Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan upaya sadar yang dilakukan pendidik untuk membuat kegiatan belajar mengajar berjalan efektif sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai. Tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa berdasarkan nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimun. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa hasil tes siswa kelas VII di SMP Lentera Harapan belum mencapai nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum karena siswa tidak bekerjasama menyelesaikan tugas, siswa kemampuan kognitif tinggi tidak membantu siswa kemampuan kognitif rendah, dan bersikap individualis. Numbered Heads Together merupakan metode yang dapat membuat siswa bekerjasama yaitu siswa kemampuan kognitif tinggi membantu siswa kemampuan kognitif rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui penerapan metode Numbered Heads Together dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif IPA dan 2) langkah-langkah metode dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa. Indikator hasil belajar IPA yaitu: menuliskan organel sel dan organ-organ penyusun sistem organ, menentukan fungsi organel sel dan jenis jaringan, menjelaskan fungsi organel sel hewan dan tumbuhan, jenis jaringan hewan dan organ penyusun sistem organ. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama dua kali penerapan masing-masing pada tanggal 17- 18 September 2018 dan 8 Oktober 2018. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 17 siswa kelas VII SMP Lentera Harapan. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, umpan balik mentor, hasil tes, lembar observasi, angket dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil tes setelah penerapan 1 dan 2 masing-masing menunjukkan 53% dan 64,70% siswa sudah mencapai nilai KKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Numbered Heads Together dan langkah-langkah yang diterapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa kelas VII Sekolah Lentera Harapan./ Education is a conscious effort by educators to make teaching and learning activities run effectively, thus, learning objectives can be achieved. The learning objectives achieved can be seen from the students’ learning outcomes based on minimum passing criterion. The observation result showed that Grade VII students’ test results at Lentera Harapan Junior Highschool have not reached the minimum completeness criteria yet because the students did not work together in completing the task, especially students with high cognitive abilities did not help those with low cognitive abilities, and they were individualistic. ‘Numbered Heads Together’ is a method that can make students work together; students with high cognitive abilities help students with low cognitive abilities. This study aims to 1) find out the application of the Numbered Heads Together method can improve IPA cognitive learning outcomes and 2) steps the method can improve students’ natural science cognitive learning outcomes. Indicators of science learning outcomes are: writing down cell organelles and organs making up organ systems, determining the function of cell organelles and tissue types, explaining the function of animal and plant cell organelles, types of animal tissue and organ organizing organs. The research method used is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted twice on September 17 until September 18, 2018 and October 8, 2018. The research subjects are 17 students in seventh grade of Lentera Harapan Junior Highschool. The data sources used are lesson plans, mentor observation feedbacks, test results, observation sheets, questionnaires and reflection journals. The test result after the first and second implementation showed 53% and 64.70% of students have reached the minimum passing criterion. The results showed that the implementation of the ‘Numbered Heads Together’ method and its steps could improve Grade VII students’ cognitive learning outcomes of Lentera Harapan Junior Highschool.
