Abstract

Hasil pengamatan di Kelas XI IPS Sekolah Lentera Harapan Way Pengubuan, mayoritas murid kesulitan memahami konsep pelajaran Ekonomi. Sebagian besar murid sulit untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang bersifat menjelaskan kembali konsep dengan bahasa sendiri. Masalah ini terjadi karena murid memiliki kecenderungan untuk berbicara dengan teman, maupun mengeluarkan celetukan yang tidak ada hubungan dengan materi yang dipelajari ketika pembelajaran. Hal ini berakibat murid sulit fokus, dan konsep penting yang dipelajari tidak dimengerti oleh murid. Kelas ini membutuhkan bimbingan dari guru untuk dapat memahami konsep materi pelajaran dengan baik melalui metode pembelajaran yang dapat mengatasi masalah yang ada. Berdasarkan pengamatan tersebut maka penelitian ini menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Talk Write guna meningkatkan pemahaman konsep murid. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) Robert P. Pelton. Penelitian berjalan dengan lima tahapan sesuai dengan ketentuan yang tersedia dengan melibatkan 15 murid di kelas XI IPS SLH Way Pengubuan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), lembar umpan balik mentor, tes, dan catatan harian. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil bahwa penerapan metode Think Talk Write dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep murid dalam materi ketenagakerjaan. Indikator pertama menyatakan ulang suatu konsep dengan bahasa sendiri menunjukkan nilai 60%, indikator kedua mengklasifikasikan objek objek berdasarkan dipenuhi atau tidaknya persyaratan yang membentuk konsep tersebut menunjukkan nilai 93%, indikator ketiga memberikan contoh dari suatu konsep tertentu menunjukkan nilai 80%, dan indikator keempat mengaplikasikan konsep mendapatkan nilai sebesar 67%. Keberhasilan ini karena metode Thik Talk Write dapat memaksimalkan kemampuan murid di dalam kelas sehingga konsep materi dapat dipahami dengan maksimal./ The result of the observation in class XI IPS Sekolah Lentera Harapan Way Pengubuan, most of the students were difficult in understanding the concept on Economics. Most of the students were difficult to answer the problems about re explaining the concept in their own words. This problem occurred because the students tended to talk to their friends, or even discussed something that was not related with the lesson. It caused the students difficult to focus and the important concept learned was not understood by the students. This class needed the supervision of the teacher in understanding the concept of the lesson correctly through the learning method that could overcome the problem. Based on the observation, the researcher applied the cooperative learning model type Think,Talk,Write (TTW) in order to improve the students’ conceptual understanding. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) of Robert P. Pelton. This research was done through five steps involving 15 students’ class XI IPS SLH Way Pengubuan. The research instrument used were lesson plan, mentor’ feedback, test, dan daily notes. The result of the research done was that the implementation of Think,Talk,Write (TTW) method could improve the students’ conceptual understanding on employment material. The first indicator, re-stating the concept using own words, achieved 60%. The second indicator, classifying objects whether it accomplish requirement which build the concept, achieved 93%. The third indicator, giving example from a concept, achieved 80%. Lastly, the fourth indicator, applying the concept, achieved 67%. This success is based in the TTW method which could maximize the ability of the students in the classroom, so that the concept of the material could be understood in maximum.
