Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis pada mata pelajaran Biologi adalah kemampuan ranah kognitif yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh siswa. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil pengamatan peneliti di kelas X MIPA 1 SMA Kristen YSKI Semarang ditemukan bahwa siswa belum bisa memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan baik pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Sebagian besar siswa juga kurang terlibat dalam pembelajaran melalui memberikan pendapat dan pertanyaan yang menunjukkan rasa ingin tahu. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan metode grup investigasi dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Melalui penerapan metode grup investigasi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua penerapan, dimulai pada 22 Oktober 2018 sampai dengan 2 November 2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua penerapan tindakan yang melibatkan 25 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah lembar observasi guru pamong dan rubrik penilaian serta jurnal refleksi peneliti. Hasil pengumpulan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Keseluruhan data instrumen tersebut menunjukan hasil bahwa penerapan metode grup investigasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X MIPA 1 pada pelajaran Biologi./ The ability to think critically in Biology subjects is a cognitive ability that is important to be mastered by students. This research is based on the results of observations of researchers in class X MIPA 1 YSKI Christian High School Semarang found that students have not been able to have the ability to think critically well on Biology subjects. Most students are also less involved in learning through giving opinions and questions that show curiosity. Therefore, the researchers decided to apply the group investigation method to overcome these problems. Through the application of the group investigation method, it is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted in two cycles, starting on October 22, 2018 to November 2, 2018. The research method used in this study was Pelton's Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study consisted of two application actions involving 25 students. The instruments used in collecting data were tutors 'teacher observation sheets, tutor teacher interview guides and assessment rubrics and researchers' reflection journals. The results of data collection were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The entire instrument data shows the results that the application of the group investigation method can improve the critical thinking skills of class X students in Mathematics and Natural Sciences 1 in Biology.
