Abstract

Disiplin belajar menjadi prasyarat terjadinya proses pembelajaran yang optimal. Namun, berdasarkan pengamatan penulis, ditemukan fenomena bahwa siswa kelas VIII B SLH Tomohon kurang disiplin dalam belajar yaitu adanya siswa yang berbicara tanpa menggunakan hand signal, mengobrol dengan siswa lain, melakukan aktivitas lain, meninggalkan tempat duduk tanpa izin guru, dan tidak mengerjakan serta mengumpulkan tugasnya. Pada penelitian ini diterapkan token ekonomi untuk meningkatkan disiplin belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan token ekonomi dapat meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII B SLH Tomohon dan untuk menjelaskan penerapan token ekonomi yang dapat meningkatkan disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII B SLH Tomohon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Pelton. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai 3 September hingga 17 Oktober 2018 di kelas VIII B SLH Tomohon. Penelitian ini melibatkan 31 siswa yang terdiri dari 14 siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswa perempuan. Penulis mengumpulkan data dengan RPP, umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi, dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari dua kali penerapan token ekonomi, menunjukkan peningkatan disiplin belajar dari tindakan pertama ke tindakan kedua. Diperoleh indikator 1 meningkat dari 44% ke 61%; indikator 2 dari 60% ke 85%; indikator 3 dari 86% ke 97%; indikator 4 dari 77% ke 99%; dan indikator 5 dari 80% ke 100%. Token ekonomi dapat meningkatkan disiplin belajar dengan menerapkan seluruh langkah-langkah dan adanya beberapa modifikasi yaitu penentuan dan penjelasan target perilaku menggunakan mini brosur, tidak diinformasikan backup reinforcer kepada siswa, dan dikolaborasikan dengan story telling dan K-W-L chart. Token ekonomi yang dilakukan berulang-ulang merupakan latihan disiplin bagi siswa/ Learning discipline is a prerequisite for the optimal learning process. But, based on the author's observation, it was found the phenomenon in grade VIII B SLH Tomohon was undisciplined in learning, which are students spoke without using hand signals, chatting with other students, doing other activities, leaving seats without teacher's permission, not working and collecting their assignment. In this research, economy token was applied to improve learning discipline. The objectives of this research include: (1) to find out the application of economy token can improve grade VIII B students’ learning discipline in SLH Tomohon and (2) to explain the implementation of economy token can improve grade VIII B students’ learning discipline in SLH Tomohon. The research method used was classroom action research (CAR) with Pelton’s model. The research was conducted from September 3 to October 17, 2018 in class VIII B SLH Tomohon. The research involved 31 students consisting of 14 male students and 17 female students. The author collects data with lesson plans, mentor feedback, reflection journals, and observation sheets. Based on the results of the research from the two times the implementation of economy token, it showed an improve in the learning discipline from the first action to the second action. Indicator 1 obtained increases from 44% to 61%; indicator 2 from 60% to 85%; indicator 3 from 86% to 97%; indicator 4 from 77% to 99%; and indicator 5 from 80% to 100%. Economy token can improve learning discipline by determining and explaining behavior targets using a mini brochure, not reinforced backup information to students, and collaborating with the story telling and K-W L chart. Repetition of economy token is a discipline exercise for students.
