Abstract

Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IIS di SMA Lentera Harapan Jatiagung. Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan hasil identifikasi masalah yang terjadi selama pembelajaran yang memberikan kesimpulan bahwa siswa mengalami masalah pemahaman konsep. Penyimpulan ini dapat terlihat berdasarkan hasil observasi, umpan balik, serta hasil kerja siswa. Menanggapi permasalahan yang terjadi peneliti memilih menggunakan metode pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Division atau STAD untuk meningkatkan permasalahan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan membuktikan dan menjelaskan penerapan metode STAD untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X IIS di SMA Lentera Harapan Jatiagung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas atau PTK dengan model penerapan Pelton, dilakukan dalam dua kali penerapan tindakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 17 September 2018 - 24 September 2018, dengan jumlah siswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes, lembar kerja siswa (LKS), lembar angket, lembar umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi, dan jurnal refleksi. Pengelolaan data dilakukan secara analisis deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian dilihat per indikator, untuk pemahaman konsep indikator menafsirkan mencapai angka 9%, indikator memberikan contoh 24%, indikator mengklasifikasikan 22%, dan indikator menyatakan ulang 1%. Keempat indikator pemahaman konsep telah melampui standar keberhasilan yang telah ditentukan yaitu 75%, berdasarkan hasil persentase membuktikan bahwa metode STAD terlaksana dengan baik, dan berdasarkan proses pembelajaran menunjukkan keberhasilan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa./ The subject of this research was the students in X IIS class at Lentera Harapan Jatiagung high school. This research was conducted based on the result of problem identified during the learning process, it gaves a conclution that students had a problem in comprehensing the concept of the material. The conclusion was taken from the result of observation, stundents learning outcome, and feedback. The researcher chose student team achievement division or STAD learning method to increase stundets’ conceptual understanding. The purpose of this research are prove and explain the application of STAD method to improve the conceptual understanding ability of class X IIS. This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR), Pelton implementation model is carried out in two times application of action. The application started from 17 September- 24 September 2018, with 20 students as the participants. Researcher using test, student worksheet, questionnaire, mentor’s feedback, observation, and reflection journal as the instruments of this research. The data was managed by descriptive analysis. The results of the research are managed based on indicators. For the understanding concept, Interpreting indicators reached 9%, the percentage of students-giving-example indicatoprs is 24%, classification reached 22%, and restated is 1%. The indicators of conceptual understanding have exceeded the standard of success that has specified 87%. Based on the percentage of the results prove that the STAD method is successfully implied and the students experienced improvement in the learning process based on the data and the reflection that had been successfully done.
