Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Tangerang, didapati bahwa lebih dari setengah siswa-siswi kelas X-IPA bermasalah dalam hal keaktifan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran akuntansi. Selain dari hasil refleksi peneliti pada saat melaksanakan proses pengajaran di sekolah tersebut, yang menyatakan bahwa siswa-siswi kelas X-IPA kurang terlibat dalam pembelajaran sehingga kurang aktif, mereka juga dikenal cenderung pendiam oleh guru mentor berdasarkan hasil wawancara serta hasil observasi teman sejawat. Oleh karena itu, peneliti akhirnya melakukan penelitian dengan menerapkan metode Think Pair Share pada kelas yang bersangkutan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa, serta menjelaskan bagaimana penerapan metode tersebut dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran akuntansi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini diterapkan pada kelas X-IPA yang berjumlah 20 orang siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua kali penerapan tindakan, dari tanggal 18 Oktober – 25 Oktober 2018. Hasilnya berdasarkan penelitian, metode pembelajaran Think Pair Share terbukti dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa-siswi kelas X-IPA pada mata pelajaran akuntansi. Hal ini didasarkan pada semua sumber temuan peneliti pada saat penerapan tindakan I (76,9%) dan juga tindakan II (73,3%) jika dibandingkan dengan waktu identifikasi masalah (59,3%) pada angket siswa, hasil observasi guru mentor berupa ceklist, serta refleksi peneliti. Cara metode pembelajaran Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa adalah dengan penerapan lima tahapan yaitu guru menjelaskan metode Think Pair Share, tahap Think, tahap Pair, tahap Share, dan guru menyimpulkan hasil persoalan yang sedang dibahas./ Based on observations made by researcher at a Christian school in Tangerang, it was found that more than half of the X-IPA class students were having problem in terms of activeness during accounting subject. Aside from the results of the researcher' reflections during the teaching and learning process which stated that X-IPA students were less involved in learning so that they were less active, they were also known to be quiet by mentor teachers based on interviews and peer observation. Therefore, researchers finally conducted research by implementing the Think Pair Share. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the implementation of the Think Pair Share method can increase student activeness or not, and explain how the application of it can improve students' activeness during accounting subject. The research method used in this study is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. This research was applied to the X-IPA class which amounted to 20 students. The study was conducted in two times the application of action, from October 18 to October 25 2018. The results based on research, the Think Pair Share learning method proved to be able to increase the activeness of students of X-IPA class in accounting subjects. This is based on all sources of findings of researchers at the time of application of action I (76.9%) and also actions II (73.3%) when compared to the time of identification of problems (59.3%) in student questionnaires, the results of observation of teacher mentors in the form checklist, and researcher reflection. The way the Think Pair Share learning method can improve student activity is by applying five stages, namely the teacher explains the Think Pair Share method, Think stage, Pair stage, Share stage, and the teacher concludes the results of the problem being discussed.
