Abstract

Realitas pembelajaran sekarang ini menuntut peranan siswa lebih banyak dibandingkan guru sebagai pengajar. Akan tetapi selama proses pembelajaran, guru menemukan bahwa siswa kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu, belum melaksanakan diskusi dengan baik dikarenakan ada yang pasif, siswa tidak fokus dalam pembelajaran, bercakap-cakap, tidak menanyakan materi yang belum jelas atau tugas yang belum dipahami, tidak terlibat secara serius dalam melaksanakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran PPKN dengan menerapkan metode debat aktif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas merujuk pada Robert P. Pelton. Waktu penelitian dilakukan mulai tanggal 12 September – 08 Maret 2019 dengan melakukan 2 kali tahapan tindakan penyelesaian masalah dengan jumlah murid 27 orang. Instrumen utama yang digunakan dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini adalah lembar observasi guru mentor, RPP, lembar umpan balik guru mentor dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode debat aktif mencapai peningkatan 65,38% pada tindakan I, dan naik menjadi 92% di tindakan II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode debat aktif dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran PPKN Kelas VII di Salah Satu Sekolah Kristen di Makassar./ The reality of learning now requires the role of students more than the teacher. However, during the learning process, the teacher found that students were less active in the learning process such as they have not carried out discussions properly because there were passive students who did not focus on learning, did not ask questions when there were unclear or tasks that have not been understood and did not seriously involve in carrying out the tasks given by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to increase the activity of students in the learning process during the civic subject by applying active debate methods. The method used in this study was Class Action Research model by Robert P. Pelton. The study was conducted from 12 September - 08 March 2019 by carrying out 2 stages of problem solving actions consisting of 27 students. The main instruments used in this Classroom Action Research were teacher mentor observation sheets, lesson plans, teacher mentor feedback sheets and reflection journals. The results of this study indicated that the implementation of the active debate method improved students’ activeness from 65.38% in action I, and increased to 92% in action II. Based on the results of these studies, it could be concluded that the active debate method can increase students’ activeness in the learning process of Class VII during Civic subject in one of the Christian schools in Makassar.
