Abstract

Pendidikan tidak pernah lepas dari proses belajar mengajar di sekolah. Proses belajar mengajar dapat berjalan dengan baik ketika siswa menunjukkan sikap yang aktif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Siswa dikatakan aktif ketika mereka terlibat dalam pembelajaran baik fisik, mental, intelektual maupun emosi. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di kelas VIII A SMPK Tunas Bangsa Gading Serpong, peneliti melihat kurangnya keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Banyak siswa yang bersikap pasif hanya menjadi pendengar selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Ketika peneliti bertanya yang menjawab hanya sekitar empat sampai enam dari dua puluh satu siswa. Saat diberikan kesempatan untuk mencatat hanya sekitar sepuluh siswa yang mencatat. Mengerjakan hal lain di luar topik pembelajaran dan bahkan ada siswa yang mengantuk. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas VIII A dalam pembelajaran IPS peneliti menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay - Two Stray. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas model Robert Pelton. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII A di sekolah SMPK Tunas Bangsa Gading Serpong yang berjumlah 21 siswa terdiri dari 10 orang siswa laki-laki dan 11 orang siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari 16 July 2018 sampai 2 November 2018, dengan melakukan penerapan tindakan sebanyak dua kali.Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi, lembar check list, dan jurnal refleksi. Bedasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Two Stay Two Stray dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas VIII A dalam pembelajaran IPS. Pada penerapan pertama presentase keaktifan siswa sebesar 61% dan pada penerapan kedua presentase keaktifan siswa sebesar 81%. Dengan demikian, presentase keaktifan siswa kelas VIII A mengalami peningkatan sebesar 20%. / Education has never been separated from teaching and learning process. Teaching and learning process can run well when students show an active attitude in learning. Students determine to be active when they are involved in learning physically, mentally, intellectually and emotionally. Based on observations in grade VII A Tunas Bangsa Gading Serpong school, the researcher sawstudents lack of active in participating the learning process. Beside that, many students only become listeners during learning process.When the researcher gave question, only four to six out of twenty-one students who give their answers. When the researcher has given the opportunity to take notes for students, there are only ten students who take notes.There are students who do other things outside the topic of learning and another studentswere sleepy. There fore, the researcher applied the cooperative learning method two stay-two stray to improve the activeness of grade VIII A students in social studies learning. The research method used is Pelton's model of Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects in this study were students in grade VIII A consist of21 students. This research was conducted in two implementationsfrom July 16, 2018 to November 2, 2018. The instruments used in this research were lesson plan, mentor feedback, observation sheet, checklist sheet and reflection journal. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the implementation of two stay two stray method can improve the participation of grade VIII A students in social studies learning. In the first application the percentage of student participation is 61%. In the second implementation, the percentage of student participation is 81%. Thus, the percentage of participation of class VIII A has improved by 20%.
