Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu aspek kognitif yang penting dalam pembelajaran. Fakta yang ditemukan oleh peneliti di lapangan adalah siswa Kelas XI IPS SMA Kristen Indonesia Magelang belum bisa memahami konsep dengan baik pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Peneliti menggunakan model pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Pelton. Tujuan dari peneltian ini adalah untuk melihat ada atau tidaknya peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa lewat pelaksanaan model pembelajaran TAI serta melihat tahapan pelaksanaan TAI yang dapat memengaruhi pemahaman konsep. Penelitian dimulai pada 25 September 2018 – 9 Oktober 2018 dengan pelaksanaan tindakan sebanyak satu kali. Indikator pemahaman konsep yang dipakai peneliti adalah; (1) menyatakan konsep yang telah dipelajari (2) menjelaskan konsep yang telah dipelajari dan (3) mengaitkan berbagai konsep. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 12 orang siswa. Sumber data yang dipakai untuk variabel masalah dan tindakan adalah; hasil tes, jurnal refleksi peneliti, lembar observasi pelaksanaan tindakan, RPP dan form umpan balik guru mentor. Secara ideal, penerapan model pembelajaran TAI yang matang dan baik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan terhadap indikator pertama dan terjadi penurunan terhadap dua indikator lain yang disebabkan karena pelaksanaan tindakan yang kurang baik oleh peneliti./ Conceptual understanding is one the important cognitive aspects in learning. Facts found by the researcher in the school are students of XI Social Indonesia Magelang Christian High School did not show good performance in conceptual understanding on Economy Price Index and Inflation. The researcher used Team Assisted Individualization to solve the above’ issue. The research method used by the researcher was Pelton’s classroom action research (CAR). The purpose of this research is to see whether there is an increase in understanding of students' concepts through the implementation of the TAI learning model and to see the stages of TAI implementation that can influence conceptual understanding. The research started from September 25, 2018 until October 9, 2018 with one implementation of action. The indicators of conceptual understanding used by the researcher are, (1) state the concepts that have been learned, (2) explain the concepts that have been learned and (3) relates various concepts. The research subjects were 12 students. Data sources used for problem variables and actions are, test results, researcher reflection journals, observation sheets for implementing actions, lesson plans and teacher mentor feedback forms. Ideally, a well planned TAI can increases students’ conceptual understanding. The results of this study indicate that there was an increase in the first indicator and a decline in the other two indicators caused by the implementation of actions that were not good by the researchers.
