Abstract

Sejak tahun 2021, peminatan terhadap keramik pottery akan terus meningkat mulai dari tahun 2022-2028 dengan compound annual growth rate (CAGR) sebesar 4.4%. Dengan demikian hal ini menjadi kesempatan bagi para seniman keramik untuk mulai berkarya dan meningkatkan produk lokal mereka. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini akan menggabungkan kebudayaan Tari Remo dan kebiasan minum kopi dari Jawa Timur menjadi produk keramik dengan teknik ukir dimana keduanya menggambarkan pribadi warga Jawa Timur yang keras, tegas, namun bersemangat.Penelitian akan dilaksanakan dengan riset data dari sejarah, budaya, pengidentifikasian budaya menggunakan metode IMO (inner, middle, outer), wawancara, observasi, eksplorasi dan eksperimen, serta pendapat pengguna. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 2 set alat minum kopi yang cara menggunakannya dengan menuangkan kopi pada lepek (piring tatakan cangkir) seperti pada kebiasaan warga yang sekarang pun tidak sering ditemukan di perkotaan. Dimana dalam mendesainnya akan menggunakan konsep Tari Remo dengan teknik ukiran. / Since 2021, the demand for ceramics has been increasing and is expected to keep growing until 2028 with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.4%. This opens up an opportunity for potters to showcase their talents and work up their local products. Therefore, this study aims to combine the culture of Remo dance and the coffee-drinking habits of East Java people into a pottery using carving techniques where both cultures manage to portray the strong, determined, and passionate nature of the people. This research will be conducted through data collection from the historical and cultural sources, the identification of culture using IMO (inner, middle, outer) method, interviews, observations, exploration and experimentations, as well as collections of user reviews. The final results of this study will produce 2 coffee sets that use East Java local habits of drinking— by pouring the coffee into the saucer— that's already uncommon to find in the cities. With a design that incorporates the concept of Remo dance and the usage of carving technique.
