Abstract

Film dokumenter merupakan sebuah upaya untuk menceritakan kejadian yang merupakan sebuah realitas menggunakan fakta atau data. Film dokumenter digunakan sebagai salah satu media untukmenyampaikan informasi, edukasi, hiburan, hingga propaganda bagi beberapa kalangan. Tugas Akhir ini merupakan serangkaian teori dan juga laporan dari pembuatan film dokumenter “Stone Court” berdasarkan perspektif dari penulis selaku director of photography (DOP) atau penata kamera. Film dokumenter “Stone Court” merupakan film dokumenter yang menampilkan beberapa narasumber dengan etnis Batak yang berprofesi dalam bidang hukum. Sejak dahulu masyarakat kerap kali mengaitkan profesi pengacara dengan etnis Batak dikarenakan mereka memiliki suara lantang, sifat pemarah dan juga suka berdebat, akan tetapi hal ini merupakan stigma yang buruk. Riset yang dilakukan dalam perancangan film “Stone Court” dilakukan secara mendalam, dimulai dari literatur, wawancara, dan juga referensi visual yang akan divisualisasikan pada film dokumenter. Pengerjaan film “Stone Court” terbagi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu pra-produksi, produksi, serta pasca- produksi. Dengan adanya film dokumenter “Stone Court” ini, penulis berharap penonton dapat memperluas wawasan dalam hal kebudayaan Indonesia yang sangat luas. / Documentary film is an effort to narrate an realistic event using facts or data. Documentary films are used as one of the ways to give information, education, campaigns, and propaganda for some people. This Final Project is a theoretical description and also a report from the making of documentary film "Stone Court" from the perspective of the writer and also Director of Photography (DOP) or the camera director. The film "Stone Court" is a documentary film that features several sources with Batak ethnicity working in the field of law. For a long time, people often associate the profession of lawyers with Batak ethnicity because they have a loud voice, a hot-tempered personality, and likes to argue, but this is a bad stigma. The research conducted in the making of "Stone Court" film was done in-depth, starting from literature, interviews, and also visual references that will be visualized in the documentary film. The production of the "Stone Court" film is divided into three stages, namely pre-production, production, and post-production. With the existence of "Stone Court" documentary film, the writer hopes that the audience can expand their knowledge about Indonesia's diverse culture.
