Abstract

Agama Kristen merupakan agama terbesar kedua setelah agama Islam di Indonesia. Walaupun jumlahnya banyak, namun terdapat perbedaan kebijakan yang sifatnya dogmatis. Sebagian besar gereja belum menerapkan doa puasa, terkhusus dalam tata ibadah pujian dan penyembahannya. Namun demikian, di GPdI Shekinah Malang, ritual doa puasa ini menjadi tradisi yang rutin dilakukan khusus untuk mempersiapkan pelayanan pujian dan penyembahan. Pemimpin pujian (worship leader atau WL) beserta pelayan altar selalu melakukan ritual doa puasa sebelum melayani di ibadah mingguan. Pemaknaan puasa dalam gereja tersebut menjadi hal yang menarik diteliti. Harapannya, melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui signifikansi puasa dalam penyampaian pesan profetik melalui pujian-penyembahan yang dianalisa menggunakan teori konstruksi realitas sosial dengan membedah anatomi proses komunikasi di dalamnya. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan beberapa cara menurut jenis data. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam (deep interview) dan observasi. Sementara itu, data sekunder didapatkan dari literatur, buku, jurnal, dokumen terkait dengan topik. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui penelitian ini adalah gereja berhasil mengeksternalisasikan bahkan sampai mengobjektivasikan makna bahwa puasa dapat memampukan para pelayan untuk memperoleh pesan profetik yang penting dalam pelayanan. Pelayan altar juga dapat menginternalisasikan objektivasi tersebut dengan baik sehingga tercermin dalam pujian-penyembahan sebagai bentuk ekspresinya. / Christianity is the second-largest religion after Islam in Indonesia. Although there are many of them, there are dogmatic policy differences. Most churches have not yet implemented fasting prayer, especially in the service of praise and worship. However, at GPdI Shekinah Malang this ritual of fasting prayer has become a tradition that is routinely carried out specifically to prepare for praise and worship services. The worship leader (WL) along with the altar servers always performs a fasting prayer ritual before serving in the weekly worship service. The meaning of fasting in the church is an interesting thing to study. The hope, through this research, can be known the significance of fasting in conveying prophetic messages through praises which are analyzed using social reality construction theory by dissecting the anatomy of the communication process in it. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach and phenomenological methods. Data collection is done in several ways according to the type of data. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews (deep interviews) and observation. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from literature, books, journals, and documents related to the topic. The results obtained through this research are that the church succeeded in externalizing and even objectivating the meaning that fasting can enable ministers to obtain important prophetic messages in ministry. Servants of the altar can also internalize this objectivation well so that it is reflected in the worship as a form of expression.
