Abstract

Program evaluation is very important to do in order to measure whether the program has been effective in achieving its goals. The character education program at Athalia Elementary School has been carried out for more than five years but has never been thoroughly evaluated. Therefore, evaluation research using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model is carried out using descriptive qualitative methods and simple statistics. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documents. The research subjects were the founder of the Athalia School, the head of the PK3 section, the head of Athalia Elementary School, the character development staff, the learning plan preparation team, teachers, parents, and students of grades V & VI. The context evaluation is good because the vision, mission, and values of Athalia School are understood and becomes the foundation for developing character education program. The input evaluation is quite good because the plans and strategies used have been well prepared but still need to be improved. The evaluation process is quite good because the character education program at Athalia Elementary School can be implemented according to plan with the coordination and involvement of parents and gets a good response from students, but there are things that need to be improved. Product evaluation is quite good because students' character has been developed. However, more measurable assessment standard is needed. The researcher's recommendation is to make improvements in the curriculum, teacher training, measurement tools, collaboration with parents, and consistency in the implementation of character projects./Evaluasi program sangat penting dilakukan agar dapat mengukur apakah program telah efektif mencapai tujuan.
