Abstract

Seorang dokter dapat bekerja sebagai dokter klinis atau non-klinis yang menangani pasien. Seorang dokter harus memiliki pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk melakukan kedua pekerjaan tersebut. Dokter cenderung memilih menjadi spesialis daripada menjadi non-klinis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami mengapa dokter memilih karier non-klinis. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan eksploratori. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara dan kuesioner;10 dokter non-klinis. Kuesioner dibuat berdasarkan temuan penelitian dan wawancara dengan hasil 20 variabel berhasil dikumpulkan. Kemudian kuesioner disebarkan kepada 107 responden, yang digunakan untuk analisis faktor. Terdapat empat alasan mengapa dokter memilih bekerja di luar klinik: (1) ketakutan, (2) impian, (3) keseimbangan pekerjaan dan keluarga, dan (4) inspirasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alasan dokter memilih jalur non-klinis terkait dengan mimpi, ketakutan, keseimbangan keluarga dan pekerjaan, dan inspirasi. Penelitian ini dapat membantu para dokter, terutama calon dokter, mempersiapkan dan memilih karier yang mereka inginkan. / Being a doctor can mean working as a clinical or non-clinical doctor who treats patients. A doctor must have the necessary knowledge to perform both jobs. Doctors tend to choose to be specialists over non-clinical. The aim of this research is to understand why doctors choose non-clinical careers. This study uses an exploratory approach. Data collection was carried out using interviews from with 10 non- clinical doctors and questionnaires. The questionnaire was made based on research findings and interviews with the results of 20 variables being successfully collected. Then the questionnaire was distributed to 107 respondents, which was used for factor analysis. This study found four reasons why doctors choose to work outside the clinic: (1) fear, (2) dreams, (3) work-family intergration, and (4) inspiration. The findings suggest that the reasons physicians choose non-clinical routes are related to dreams, fears, family-work intergration, and inspiration. This research can help doctors, especially medical students, prepare and choose the career they want.
