Abstract

Keterlibatan siswa di dalam kelas merupakan salah satu kunci keberhasilan suatu proses pembelajaran. Namun, berdasarkan keadaan yang diamati oleh peneliti menunjukan bahwa siswa kurang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran dalam interaksi dengan guru maupun dengan teman sekelas sehingga kelas cenderung pasif. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) untuk melihat ada atau tidaknya peningkatan keterlibatan siswa di dalam kelas serta mengetahui cara penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di sebuah Sekolah Menengah Pertama ABC Banjar Agung pada kelas 8B tanggal 29 Oktober 2015 sampai 04 November 2015. Data dan informasi didapat dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen, yaitu lembar observasi mentor, lembar angket siswa, lembar wawancara siswa, lembar wawancara mentor dan jurnal refleksi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penerapan Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran pada hasil angket siswa dari 78% menjadi 87% dan hasil observasi guru mentor dari 62% menjadi 85%. Adapun penerapan Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) melalui penyampaian tujuan pembelajaran dan memotivasi siswa melalui video, menyampaikan materi melalui ceramah interaktif dan latihan soal, mengorganisasikan siswa ke kelompok dengan instruksi untuk tugas di kelompok, membimbing siswa di kelompok, memberikan kuis di akhir pelajaran serta pemberian penghargaan berupa penambahan poin sesuai poin kemajuan setiap anggota./ Involvement of students in the classroom is the one key of the success in the learning process. But in the fact, based on the circumstances observed by the researchers showed that the students are less involved in the learning process in the interaction either with the teacher or with the classmates so that the class tends to be passive. To overcome this problem, the researcher applied the type of cooperative learning which is Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) to know the enchancement of students’ involvement in the classroom as well as knowing how to implement STAD cooperative learning in improving students’ involvement. The method that used by the researcher is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and Mc Taggart Kemmis models that consisted of two cycles. The experiment was conducted in a Junior High School in class ABC BanjarAgung 8B from October 29, 2015 until November 4, 2015. The data and the information are obtained by using several instruments, namely the mentor’s observation sheets, students’ questionnaire sheets, students’ interview sheet, mentor’s interview sheets and journal reflections, Based on this research, the application of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) can increase the student engagement in learning. The application of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) through the delivery of learning objectives and motivate students through video, deliver material through interactive lectures and exercises, organize students into groups with instructions for the task group, guiding students in the group, giving a quiz at the end of the lesson and the rewarding points according to the form of additional points progress of each member.
