Abstract

The author interned from August 8 to November 20 2017, in PT Uber Technology Indonesia. Uber is an established global technology company which provides a platform to connect drivers and riders in the most efficient manner. In the course of approximately 12 weeks, the author identified major challenges of the company in terms of the level of competitiveness with other companies which are in the same line of business. The problems are: (1) Price dumping enforced by competitors, (2) Lack of innovation for payment system, (3) Inapplicable business model from Uber Headquarters for some products in Indonesia. In order to resolve the problem, the author used theories such as; SWOT Analysis and Michael Porter's theory on sustainable competitive advantage as well as Porter's Five Forces.
