Abstract

Referensi : 52 / Background : COVID-19 is an infectious disease that can spread through nasal and oral secretions. Many factors influence the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, one of which is hygiene. Previous studies have shown the influence of hygiene practices on the incidence of COVID-19 in general public, as evidenced by the high level of knowledge and hygiene practices. However, the hygiene practices of clinical clerkship students, as a group at high risk of contracting an infection, are still relatively low. Objectives : To know the relationship between hygiene practices and the incidence of COVID-19 in clinical clerkship students at Siloam Lippo Village Hospital. Methods : The research will be carried out using a cross-sectional method with unpaired categorical comparative analytic study design. The research material uses data obtained from filling out a questionnaire containing verification of positive evidence of COVID-19 by PCR and filling out the Hygiene Inventory 23 questionnaire. The data will be compiled using Microsoft Excel and then analyzed with SPSS statistics version 26.0. the statistical test will use the Chi-square method or Fisher’s test. Results : The study involved 99 respondents where 35 people (35,4%) experienced COVID-19 during the clinical clerkship period and 44 (44,4%) people having poor hygiene practices. Conclusion : The results of the study showed that there was no significant relationship between hygiene practices and the incidence of COVID-19.
