Abstract

Every student must be responsible to develop their skill optimally in achieving the standard that has been defined by the school which is the Passing Grade. Therefore, teacher needs to pay attention to students’ cognitive learning outcome when teacher teaches at the class. Observer taught the students who has low cognitive learning outcome. The learning method that was chosen to help solving the problem is quantum teaching. Observer used quantum teaching to improve grade X students’ cognitive learning outcome in mathematics. Classroom Action Research according to Kemmis and McTaggart was chosen by observer as the method in this observation. The steps are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Classroom Action Research went on two cycles using five kinds of instruments which are cycle test sheet, observation sheet, interview sheet, feedback sheet, and reflection journal. The observation outcome shows that quantum teaching can improve students’ cognitive learning outcome. This learning method will be more effective with class management and a good quantum teaching framework preparation. The conclusion is supported by all data which gathered by the five instruments in this observation./ Setiap siswa bertanggung jawab untuk mengembangkan kemampuan secara optimal dalam mencapai standar nilai yang ditetapkan sekolah yaitu Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum. Dengan demikian, guru perlu memerhatikan hasil belajar kognitif siswa ketika mengajar di kelas. Peneliti mengajar siswa yang memiliki hasil belajar kognitif yang rendah. Metode pembelajaran yang dipilih untuk membantu mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran quantum teaching. Peneliti menggunakan quantum teaching untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X di dalam pelajaran matematika. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas menurut Kemmis dan McTaggart dipilih oleh peneliti sebagai metode dalam penelitian ini. Langkah-langkahnya adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. PTK dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan menggunakan lima jenis instrumen yaitu lembar soal tes siklus, lembar observasi, lembar wawancara, lembar feedback, dan jurnal refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa quantum teaching dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Metode pembelajaran ini akan menjadi lebih efektif dengan manajemen kelas dan persiapan pelaksanaan kerangka quantum teaching yang baik. Kesimpulan tersebut didukung oleh semua data yang dikumpulkan oleh kelima instrumen dalam penelitian ini.
