Abstract

Setiap siswa harus memiliki minat dalam mengikuti semua pelajaran karena jika seorang siswa sudah memiliki minat maka ia akan menjadi tertarik dan menyukai pelajaran tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti pada kelas V dan VI di sekolah XYZ Mangga Besar, Jakarta Barat, peneliti mendapati bahwa masalah yang terjadi adalah peserta didik-siswa kelas V dan VI kurang berminat dalam belajar pelajaran Sains. Untuk meningkatkan minat siswa tersebut, maka diperlukan cara mengajarkan Sains yang tepat dan menarik. Salah satu caranya adalah penerapan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Science Club. Ekstrakurikuler Science Club yang akan diadakan oleh peneliti merupakan ekstrakurikuler pertama kali yang diadakan di sekolah ini karena sekolah ini hanya memiliki ekstrakurikuler pramuka dan badminton yang setiap minggunya tidak rutin dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat siswa kelas V dan VI pada pelajaran Sains. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode action research (penelitian tindakan) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan MC Taggart yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 22 Oktober 2015 hingga 20 November 2015. Subyek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 13 orang yang terdiri dari 7 siswa laki-laki dan 6 siswi perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi guru mentor, lembar observasi teman sejawat, dan lembar angket siswa. Dari hasil penelitian ini, penulis mendapati bahwa penerapan ekstrakurikuler Science Club dapat meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap pelajaran Sains. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ekstrakurikuler Science Club merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan minat siswa dalam pelajaran Sains. / Each student must have the interest in following all lessons because if students already have their interest to the lesson they are motivated to learn it. According to the researcher observations toward V and VI grader of the XYZ school Mangga Besar, Jakarta Barat, the researcher found that the problem is the V and VI grader are less interested in learning Science. To increase students’ interest, then it is necessary to teach Science correctly and attractively, the implemention of Science Club extracurricular is one way to increase students’ interest in learning Science. The Science Club extracurricular is the first science extracurricular conducted by the researcher for the school. The school only has two extracurriculars that is scout and also badminton which are actually not routinely done every week. The research aims to increase V and VI grader’s interest in learning Science. The method used in this research is action research method that applied Kemmis’s and MC Taggart’s model and lasted for two cycles. The research was held on 22nd of October to 20th of November 2015. The subjects of this research were 7 male students and 6 female students. The instruments used by the researcher were mentor teacher’s observation sheet, peer researcher’s observation sheet, and questionnaire. From the research, the researcher found that through implementing Science Club extracurricular, it can increase student’s interest in learning Science. The result of this research showsed Science Club extracurricular is the one alternative ways to increase student’s interest in learning Science.
