Abstract

Latar Belakang : Diabetes Mellitus merupakan penyakit metabolik yang menjadi masalah kesahatan yang penting untuk terus diperhatikan di Indonesia. Lama menderita Diabetes Mellitus dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Mengingat angka mortalitas orang dengan Diabetes Mellitus di Indonesia semakin tinggi sehingga kita perlu memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup orang dengan Diabetes Mellitus. Menurut International Diabetes Federation terdapat 537 juta orang dewasa usia 20-79 tahun terkena diabetes dan diprediksikan akan mengalami peningkatan 643 juta pada tahun 2030 dan 783 juta di tahun 2045. Di Indonesia DM menempati urutan ke-12 di dunia dengan estimasi peningkatan sekitar 9,5 juta pada tahun 2024. Tujuan Penelitian : Tujuan dari diselenggarakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji hubungan lama menderita diabetes mellitus dengan kualitas hidup, serta untuk mengetahui kualitas hidup pasien dengan Diabetes Mellitus di Siloam Hospital Lippo Village Gedung B Karawaci. Hipotesis Penelitian : Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan suatu penyakit yang berkaitan dengan kadar glukosa dalam darah. Penyakit ini tidak dapat disembukan namum dapat dikotrol. Semakin lama seseorang menderita Diabetes Mellitus, maka akan berpeluang tinggi untuk mendapatkan komplikasi-komplikasi di masa yang akan datang. Komplikasi-komplikasi tersebut dapat memberikan pengaruh pada kualitas hidup. Sehingga terdapat hubungan antara lama menderita Diabetes Mellitus dengan kualitas hidup. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode potong lintang (Cross – sectional) yang dilakukan pada pasien Diabetes Mellitus di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Lippo Village Gedung B Karawaci yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi peneliti. Data penelitian ini akan diambil melalu Kuesioner WHOQOL-BRIEF. Kata Kunci : Diabetes Mellitus, Lama Menderita Diabetes Mellitus, Kualitas Hidup./ Background : Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease which is an important health problem that needs constant attention in Indonesia. Long suffering from Diabetes Mellitus could affect the quality of life of the patient. Considering that the mortality rate for people with Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia is getting higher, we need to pay attention to the factors that can affect the quality of life for people with Diabetes Mellitus. According to International Diabetes Federation there are 537 million adults aged 20-79 years affected by diabetes. It is also predicted that there will be an increase of 643 million in 2030 and 783 million in 2045. In Indonesia DM ranks 12th in the world with an estimated increase of around 9.5 million in 2024. Objective : The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between duration of diabetes mellitus and quality of life, and to determine the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus at Siloam Hospital Lippo Village Building B Karawaci. Hypothesis : Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease related to glucose levels in the blood. This disease can’t be cured and can only be. The longer a person suffers from diabetes mellitus, the higher is the chance for the complications to show up in the future. So there is a relationship between long suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and quality of life. Methods : This study used a cross-sectional method (Cross-sectional) conducted on Diabetes Mellitus patients at Siloam Hospital Lippo Village Building B Karawaci who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the researcher. The research data will be collected through the WHOQOL-BRIEF Questionnaire. Keywords : Diabetes Mellitus, Long Suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Quality of Life.
