Abstract

Kegiatan belajar mengajar yang efektif membutuhkan konsentrasi belajar siswa yang optimal. Rendahnya konsentrasi belajar merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang ditemukan pada siswa SMP salah satu sekolah swasta di Tangerang Selatan yang ditunjukkan melalui sikap siswa yang mengantuk dan bosan, mengobrol dan bercanda dengan siswa lain, tidak mencatat materi pembelajaran, serta tidak memahami materi pembelajaran. Guru Kristen perlu memahami bahwa siswa adalah gambar dan rupa Allah yang walaupun telah jatuh ke dalam dosa tetapi tetap memiliki identitas sebagai pembawa gambar Allah. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan guru Kristen untuk meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa adalah melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan didasarkan pada filsafat pendidikan Kristen yang berpusat pada Allah dan berdasarkan pada Alkitab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbukti mampu meningkatkan konsentrasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA yang ditunjukkan melalui tercapainya indikator konsentrasi belajar. Saran yang dapat diberikan adalah guru perlu memberikan kebebasan kepada siswa terkait bentuk penyajian hasil karya, dan apabila ditemukan siswa dengan kesulitan konsentrasi belajar yang sulit ditangani maka perlu adanya konsultasi dengan guru bimbingan konseling./Effective teaching and learning activities require optimal student learning concentration. Low learning concentration is one of the problems found in junior high school students of one of the private schools in South Tangerang, which is shown through the attitude of students who are sleepy and bored, chatting and joking with other students, not taking notes on learning materials, and not understanding learning materials. Christian teachers need to understand that students are the image and likeness of God who, although they have fallen into sin, still have an identity as God's image bearers. The effort that Christian teachers can make to improve students' learning concentration is through the application of problem-based learning models based on the philosophy of Christian education which is God-centered and based on the Bible. This study aims to examine the implementation of problem-based learning method as an effort to improve students' learning concentration with descriptive qualitative research method. The application of problem-based learning model is proven to be able to improve students' learning concentration in science learning which is shown through the achievement of learning concentration indicators. Suggestions that can be given are that teachers need to give freedom to students regarding the form of presentation of work, and if students are found with learning concentration difficulties that are difficult to handle, it is necessary to consult with counseling guidance teachers.
