Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan pada kelas kelompok bermain di salah satu sekolah swasta di Makassar didapati bahwa saat kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung hanya terdapat beberapa murid yang terlibat untuk mengikuti instruksi guru. Hal ini dikarenakan kegiatan dalam kelas yang kurang menarik perhatian siswa untuk mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga siswa kurang terlibat dalam mengikuti setiap kegiatan belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu peneliti akan mengidentifikasi pengaruh penggunaan media bervariasi yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan menjabarkan penggunaan media bervariasi yang dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan keterlibatan siswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan sejak 3 Agustus hingga 13 November. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dan melibatkan 15 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah lembar observasi, refleksi peneliti, dan pedoman wawancara. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian berdasarkan instrumen yang diperoleh adalah penggunaan media bervariasi dapat menjadi salah satu metode yang baik dalam menyampaikan materi karena membantu siswa pada taman kanak-kanak untuk mendapat contoh konkrit dalam mempelajari hal yang masih belum pernah dilihat dan diketahui oleh siswa yang masih berumur 3-4 tahun. Penggunaan media bervariasi harus disajikan dengan menentukan jenis media yang tepat dengan memilih media sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran. Media yang dipilih juga harus sesuai tingkat kematangan dan kemampuan siswa sehingga dapat mempermudah siswa memahami materi pembelajaran. Teknik dalam penyajian media berhubungan dengan materi pengajaran serta media dapat ditunjukkan pada situasi waktu yang tepat dan sesuai dengan kondisi ruang kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung./ Based on the observations conducted in a playgroup at one of the private schools in Makassar, the researcher found that during the learning activity, there were only some students who were following teacher’s instruction. This was because the classroom activities were not attractive enough for the students to follow the learning activity, therefore they were not involved or engaged in the teaching and learning process. So the researcher will identify influencethe using of various media to increase students’ engagement and to formulate the using of various media that can influence to increase students’ engagement. In this research, the researcher use Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which was conducted from August 3 toNovember 13. The research was carried out in two cycles and involved 15 students. The instruments used in this research were observation, reflection, and interview protocol. The conclusion of this research based on the data collected was the use of learning media with various media method can be one of a good method to deliver material because it support playgroup students’ to get concrete examples in learning things that ever be seen or recognize by 3-4 years old students. The use of various media should be present to determine the right media by choosing the media that appropriate with the purpose of the learning. Selecting the media should be appropriate with the maturity and abilities of students so that it makes student understand learning material. Techniques in presenting media related to learning material and media can be shown on the right time and accordance with conditions of learning activities.
