Abstract

Kemandirian merupakan karakter yang penting dikembangkan sejak dini. Pada kenyataannya, masih sering ditemukan siswa yang belum mandiri. Observasi yang dilakukan oleh penulis di sebuah TK di Tangerang ditemukan hasil bahwa siswa masih belum mandiri yaitu 68,42%. Bentuk ketidak mandirian siswa terlihat dari siswa yang masih harus dibantu dalam membuka sepatu, membawa kotak makan, ditemani ke toilet, dan banyak lagi. Untuk menangani masalah ini, maka penulis menerapkan metode pembiasaan. Tujuan dari metode ini adalah untuk melihat penerapan metode pembiasaan sebagai upaya mengembangkan kemandirian siswa K1 di salah satu TK di Tangerang, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukan bahwa metode pembiasaan dapat mengembangkan kemandirian anak usia dini sebesar 87,46% dengan catatan yaitu peningkatan yang bersifat fenomena dan bukan noumena. Guru harus menekankan kepada siswa sebagai anak Allah bahwa mereka perlu memiliki kemandirian dalam mengerjakan tugas, sehingga mereka menjadi lebih mampu dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman kedepan. Guru perlu memahami bahwa dirinya adalah instrumen yang dipakai Roh Kudus untuk memampukan murid untuk semakin serupa Kristus, dan Roh Kudus saja yang mampu mengubah karakter siswa pada aspek noumena. Saran kepada guru adalah untuk tetap menjadikan Kebenaran firman Allah sebagai standar untuk mengembangkan kemandirian siswa melalui metode pembiasaan, dan berkolaborasi dengan orang tua./ Independence is an important characteristic to develop from an early age. In reality, it is still common to find students who are not yet independent. Observations carried out by the author in a kindergarten in Tangerang found that students were still not independent, namely 68.42%. Student independence can be seen in students who still must be helped to take off their shoes, carry lunch boxes, be accompanied to the toilet, and more. To overcome this problem, the author applies the habituation method. The aim of this method is to see the application of the habituation method as an effort to develop the independence of K1 students in one of the kindergartens in Tangerang, using a qualitative descriptive research method. The results obtained show that the habituation method can develop early childhood independence by 87.46%, provided that the increase is phenomena and not noumena. Teachers must emphasize to students as childern of God that they need to have independence in carrying out their assignments, so that they become better able to face the challenges of their future. Teachers need to understand that they are instruments used by the Holy Spirit to enable students to become more like Christ, and the Holy Spirit alone can change students' character in the noumena aspect. The advice to teachers is to continue to use the Truth of God's Word as the standard to develop student independence through habituation methods and collaborating with parents.
