Abstract

Kemampuan menulis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang penting untuk dimiliki siswa kelas 1 SD. Namun berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti, kemampuan menulis siswa kelas 1 SD KLM Lampung belum terbentuk dengan baik, masih kurang rapi dan belum sesuai kaidah tulisan. Siswa masih kesulitan dalam menulis rapi pada buku tulis. Tulisan siswa memiliki ketidaklengkapan dalam komposisi huruf. Posisi huruf dalam baris juga belum rapi, ada huruf yang terletak pada garis. Ada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kurangnya kemampuan menulis siswa, diantaranya adalah kemampuan melaksanakan cross modal dan kemampuan pemahaman instruksi. Akibat kemampuan menulis yang masih kurang adalah siswa dapat mengalami kendala dalam mengikuti pelajaran lain. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menerapkan metode drill (metode latihan) untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan kemampuan menulis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2015 sampai 29 Oktober 2015. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 1 SD KLM Lampung yang berjumlah 21 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah lembar wawancara, lembar pengamatan, lembar umpan balik mentor, jurnal refleksi dan dokumen. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penerapan metode drill sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini berdampak pada peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas 1 SD KLM Lampung./The ability of writing is a basic competence for 1 st grade of primary students. Nevertheless, based on the observation that researcher has taken shows that the writing ability of 1 st grade KLM Lampung primary school has not been established well, still less neat and have not been in accordance rules writing. Students still have difficulty in writing neatly on writing books. Their writing is still incompleteness in letter composition. The position letter in line book is still not neatly, there is letter located on the line. There are factors that affect the students’ lack writing ability, two of them are the ability to implement cross modal and low ability to understand the instruction. Due to students’ lack writing ability, students can had difficulty in following the other lesson. To resolve this problem, the researcher applies drill methods (exercise methods) to help students enhance their writing ability. The research methods used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) type Kemmis and McTaggart which held into 2 cycles. The research was conducted on October 15th 2015 until October 29th 2015. The subject of this research is 21 students of the 1 st grade KLM Lampung primary school. An instrument that used to collect the data is interview sheets, observation sheets, mentor’s feedback sheets, journal reflection and other documents. Based on this research, the application of drill methods n accordance with the steps has an impact for the progress on enhance students’ writing ability. Therefore it can be conclude that the application of drill methods can enhance 1 st grade students’ writing ability in KLM Lampung primary school.
