Abstract

Sekolah bukan hanya menjadi lembaga pendidikan yang memberikan materi pembelajaran untuk mencerdaskan siswa, melainkan juga sekaligus menjadi tempat pembentukan karakter. Pendidikan karakter memiliki kaitan erat dengan kedisiplinan sebab karakter dibangun melalui nilai-nilai disiplin. Namun, kenyataannya kedisiplinan siswa kelas XI masih kurang. Hal ini terlihat, ketika siswa tidak mematuhi tata tertib dan peraturan pembelajaran seperti terlambat mengumpulkan tugas, tidak mendengarkan instruksi guru, sibuk sendiri, dan tidak menjaga ketenangan. Guru sebagai penuntun berdasarkan konsep in loco parentis menjadi salah satu upaya dalam mengatasi permasalahan kedisiplinan siswa. Tujuan penulisan paper ini yaitu memaparkan peran guru sebagai penuntun berdasarkan konsep in loco parentis dalam mengatasi kedisiplinan siswa. Metode yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan indikator kedisiplinan siswa guru sebagai penuntun dapat membantu mengatasi kedisiplinan siswa di dalam kelas. Siswa menjadi taat terhadap peraturan serta mengetahui perilaku benar dan salah. Peran guru Kristen sebagai penuntun berdasarkan konsep in loco parentis harus mendisiplinkan siswa menjadi lebih baik dan meneladani karakter Kristus. Saran yang dapat diberikan kepada guru ialah dapat menuntun siswa dengan penuh kasih dan memanfaatkan setiap kesempatan dan peluang yang ada agar pendisiplinan siswa lebih maksimal./ Schools are not only educational institutions that provide learning materials to make students intelligent, but they are also places for character formation. Character education is closely related to discipline because character is built through disciplinary values. However, in reality, student discipline in the classroom is still lacking. This can be seen when students do not comply with learning rules and regulations, such as being late in submitting assignments, not listening to the teacher's instructions, being busy themselves, and not maintaining calm. Teachers as guides based on the concept of in loco parentis are one of the efforts to overcome student disciplinary problems. The purpose of writing this paper is to explain the role of teachers as guides based on the concept of in loco parentis in dealing with student discipline. The method used is descriptive-qualitative. Based on indicators of student discipline, teachers as guides can help overcome student discipline in the classroom. Students become more obedient to rules and know right and wrong behavior. The role of Christian teachers as guides based on the concept of in loco parentis is to discipline students to be better and imitate the character of Christ. The advice that can be given to teachers is to be able to guide students lovingly and take advantage of every opportunity that exists so that student discipline is maximized.
