Abstract

The imbalance between public demand for mental health services dan the availability of mental health workforce in Indonesia, has the potential to give rise to compassion fatigue among the mental health workforce. This risk needs to be overcome, one way is by seeking help or help-seeking behavior. This research aims to identify the influence of help-seeking behavior toward compassion fatigue. The design of this research is quantitative design with simple linear regression analysis. Measuring the 78 collected data from the mental health workforce in Jakarta uses Actual Help-Seeking Behavior and Professional Quality of Life (only Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress dimension). The interesting result obtained showing that informal help-seeking behavior has a significant and positive influence toward compassion fatigue. These findings provide a study that informal help-seeking behavior can have an influence on increasing compassion fatigue levels in the participants of this research.
