Abstract

Keaktifan adalah salah satu hal yang dibutuhkan siswa dalam belajar. Keaktifan siswa dalam belajar akan berdampak pada hasil pembelajaran. Kenyataan yang ditemukan pada salah satu SMP di Jakarta Pusat menunjukkan keaktifan siswa masih kurang dalam belajar. Hal tersebut terlihat dari respons siswa ketita belajar, yaitu ada yang mengantuk, merasa bosan dan mengobrol dengan temannya saat belajar. Respons siswa yang demikian terjadi karena siswa belum memahami pentingnya pembelajaran dalam sekolah. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi respons siswa yang demikian adalah dengan meningkatkan keaktifan siswa melalui metode yang sesuai. Untuk mencapainya, penulis menggunakan metode diskusi kelompok dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penerapan metode diskusi kelompok dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada peningkatan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran setelah diterapkannya metode diskusi kelompok, yaitu mengambil peran dalam pengerjaan tugas kelompok, menjawab pertanyaan guru dan dan mendengarkan penjelasan materi. Kesimpulannya adalah penerapan metode diskusi kelompok ternyata berhasil dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa. Saran penulis untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah memperhatikan keselarasan penerapan metode dengan tujuan pendidikan Kristen dan perlunya menyesuaikan waktu dengan sesi dalam diskusi kelompok, tujuannya agar waktu yang digunakan bisa efektif./Activeness is one of the things that students need to learn. Student activeness in learning will have an impact on learning outcomes. The reality found in one of the junior high schools in Central Jakarta shows that student activeness is still lacking in learning. This can be seen from the responses of students when learning; some are sleepy, feel bored, and chat with their friends while learning. Such student responses occur because students do not understand the importance of learning in school. One way to overcome such student responses is to increase student activeness through appropriate methods. To achieve this, the author uses the group discussion method to improve student learning activity. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method that aims to explain how the application of the group discussion method can increase student learning activity. The results showed an increase in student activeness in learning after the application of the group discussion method, namely taking a role in working on group assignments, answering teacher questions, and listening to material explanations. The conclusion is that the application of the group discussion method was successful in increasing student learning activity. The author's suggestion for further research is to pay attention to the alignment of the application of the method with the objectives of Christian education and the need to adjust the time with sessions in group discussions. The goal is that the time used can be effective.
