Abstract

Literacy for early childhood is basically the ability to understand, process and communicate information received through reading and writing activities. Literacy skills begin when young children are able to recognize various pictorial symbols, writing, numbers and instructions, until they are able to string letters into words, sentences and communicate. The existing learning problem is that teachers lack understanding and creativity in choosing the learning media to stimulate the ability to read, write and speak in early childhood. One way that can be used is by playing letter cards. Through the medium of letter cards, it is hoped that young children can provide added value to improve their literacy skills in reading, writing and speaking and can influence young children’s interests in learning. The research aims to improve their literacy skills in reading, writing and speaking which was carried out in Group B of Kindergarten SKS. Using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method carried out in cycles and collecting data on the results of the measurement variables, the results up to cycle 2 show that the letter card game has improved the literacy skills of the young children in reading, writing and speaking very well and achieved targets as expected./Literasi untuk anak usia dini pada dasarnya adalah kemampuan untuk memahami, mengolah, dan mengkomunikasikan informasi yang diterima melalui aktivitas membaca dan menulis. Kemampuan literasi dimulai saat anak usia dini sudah bisa mengenali berbagai simbol gambar, tulisan, angka, dan petunjuk, hingga mampu merangkai huruf – huruf menjadi kata, kalimat dan kemampuan berkomunikasi. Permasalahan pembelajaran yang ada bahwa guru kurang memahami dan kreatif dalam memilih media pembelajaran untuk menstimulus kemampuan dalam membaca, menulis, dan berbicara pada anak usia dini. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan yaitu dengan bermain kartu huruf. Melalui media kartu huruf diharapkan anak usia dini dapat memberikan nilai lebih untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dalam membaca, menulis, dan berbicara serta dapat mempengaruhi minat anak usia dini untuk belajar. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dalam membaca, menulis, dan berbicara yang dilaksanakan pada kelompok B TK SKS. Menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam siklus dan pengambilan data hasil variabel pengukuran, hasil sampai siklus 2 menunjukkan permainan kartu huruf telah meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak usia dini dalam membaca, menulis, dan berbicara dengan sangat baik dan mencapai target sesuai yang diharapkan.
