Abstract

Sastra adalah salah satu bagian dari mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Ketika mempelajari materi sastra, siswa tidak hanya menguasai konsep yang diajarkan dalam materi sastra tetapi juga dapat menunjukkan apresiasi terhadap karya sastra. Pada kegiatan pembelajaran materi sastra di SPH Kemang Village, peneliti melihat sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan keengganan serta mengalami kesulitan dalam menguasai konsep yang diajarkan. Salah satu hal yang mempengaruhi adalah motivasi belajar siswa. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, Contecxtual Teaching and Learning (CTL) diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas VI materi sastra khususnya novel anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penerapan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap apresiasi sastra, motivasi belajar, dan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas VI pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Rubrik observasi digunakan oleh guru observer untuk mengukur apresiasi sastra. Lembar peer assessment digunakan oleh siswa untuk menilai sikap siswa lain saat mengerjakan tugas kelompok untuk mengukur motivasi sedangkan penguasaan konsep diukur dengan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan CTL dapat meningkatkan apresiasi sastra. Selain itu, penerapan CTL juga meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VI SPH Kemang Village pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini, hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa penerapan CTL tidak meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. / Literature is a part of learning materials in Bahasa Indonesia class. In literature studies, the students do not only comprehend the concepts taught but also demonstrate an appreciation of the literary works. Researcher acknowledged that most of the grade VI students in Sekolah Pelita Harapan Kemang Village were not eager to study literature and had difficulties in understanding the concepts taught. Many reasons affect students’ behavior and understanding of the learning process. One of the reasons is motivation in learning. To improve this condition, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) was implemented in Bahasa Indonesia class especially in children’s literature studis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of CTL on grade VI students’ literary appreciation, motivation in learning, and conceptual understanding in Bahasa Indonesia class through three cycles of Classroom Action Research (CAR). An observation rubric was used by a teacher observer to measure the students’ literary appreciation. A peer assessment rubric was used by students to evaluate their peers in working on group projects. The researcher also used written tests to measure students’ conceptual understanding. The results of this research showed that the implementation of CTL improved both grade VI students’ literary appreciation and motivation in learning in Bahasa Indonesia class. The results also showed that the implementation of CTL did not improve students’ conceptual understanding.
