Abstract

PT Asta Padu is a company engaged in making engine and heavy equipment, such as heavy vehicle engines, forklifts. The phenomenon happened is the increase in employee turnover in recent years. One of the problems that causes employee turnover in the company is job satisfaction. Employees at the company begin to show dissatisfaction with the company. This research uses the theories about job satisfaction and its influence on employees’ turnover. The framework of this research is to find out the relationship between job satisfaction and employees’ turnover. The methods used by the writer in this research are descriptive and causal research. This research uses simple linear regression, hypothesis test and coefficient determination to know the influence of job satisfaction on employees’ turnover. The research used census method so that the sample in this research is 57 respondents. Based on research result, the simple linear regression showed equation of Y = 5.028 + 0.501 X. It means that variable job satisfaction has a straight relationship to employees’ turnover. The conclusion on this research is the job satisfaction significantly has influence on the employees’ turnover at PT Asta Padu, Tebing Tinggi, Sumatera Utara. The coefficient determinant test resulted in 43.5% variable employees’ turnover can be explained by variable job satisfaction and the rest of 56.5% can be explained by other factor that is not mentioned in this research such as compensation, job promotion, etc. Some recommendations about employees’ turnover is by preparing the substitute every time when one employee is leaving. / PT Asta Padu adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam pembuatan mesin dan alat berat, seperti mesin kendaraan berat, forklift. Fenomena yang terjadi adalah peningkatan pergantian karyawan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Karyawan di perusahaan mulai menunjukkan ketidakpuasan terhadap perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori tentang kepuasan kerja dan pengaruhnya terhadap tingkat turnover karyawan. Kerangka kerja penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepuasan kerja dan tingkat turnover karyawan. Metode yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dan kausal. Penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linier sederhana, uji hipotesis dan koefisien determinasi untuk mengetahui dampak kepuasan kerja terhadap tingkat turnover karyawan. Penelitian menggunakan teknik sampel sensus sehingga jumlah sampel adalah 57 responden. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan persamaan Y = 5.028 + 0,501 X. Ini berarti bahwa variabel kepuasan kerja memiliki hubungan langsung dengan tingkat turnover karyawan. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, dan itu berarti bahwa kepuasan kerja secara signifikan memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkat turnover karyawan di PT Asta Padu, Tebing Tinggi, Sumatera Utara. Hasil uji koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa 43.5% perputaran karyawan dapat dijelaskan oleh kepuasan kerja sedangkan sisanya dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak disebutkan dalam penelitian ini seperti kompensasi, promosi jabatan, dan sebagainya. Beberapa rekomendasi tentang tingkat turnover karyawan adalah dengan menyiapkan pengganti setiap kali ketika satu karyawan meninggalkan perusahaan.
