Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan which job promotion is an important factor in the company. From the job promotion, the company hopes that it can encourage the employees’ performance. In this study is to know the influence of job promotion on employees’ performance at PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan. The theory used in this study relates to the theory of job promotion and employee performance. In this study, the method used by the author is a quantitative analysis method. The type of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through interviews, questionnaires and observation distributed to employees. The population and sample is 35 employees. The scale used to measure variables is the Likert scale. The data analysis method used in this research is simple linear regression. The results of the partial test can be explained that Job promotion influence employees’ performance at PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan. The result of the regression analysis shows that Employee Performance = 26,302 + 0,810 Job Promotion. The Determination Coefficient Test results obtained R square value of 0.488, this means 48,8% of the dependent variable Employee Performance (Y) which can be explained by the independent variable Job Promotion (X) while the remaining 51,2% is explained by other variables which was not used in this study such as compensation, work discipline and work competency The recommendation from this research is to give fairness in promotion system to both of employees who have high performance and even who have low performance. The conclusion in this study that Job promotion influences employees’ performance at PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan./ Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan dimana promosi jabatan adalah salah satu factor penting dalam perusahaan. Dari promosi jabatan tersebut perusahaan berharap dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Dalam penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui pengaruh promosi pekerjaan terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan teori promosi pekerjaan dan kinerja karyawan. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode analisis kuantitatif. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, kuesioner, dan observasi yang dibagikan kepada karyawan. Populasi dan sampel adalah 35 karyawan. Skala yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel adalah skala Likert. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis linear regresi sedeharna. Hasil uji parsial dapat dijelaskan Promosi jabatan berpengaruh pada kinerja karyawan pada PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan. Hasil dari Uji Analisis Linear Regresi Sederhana menunjukkan Kinerja Karyawan = 26,302 + 0,810 Promosi Pekerjaan. Hasil Uji Koefisien Determinasi diperoleh nilai R square sebesar 0,488, ini berarti 48,8% dari variabel dependen Kinerja Karyawan (Y) yang dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel independen Promosi Pekerjaan (X) sedangkan sisanya 51,2% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak digunakan dalam penelitian ini seperti kompensasi, disiplin kerja dan kompetensi kerja. Rekomendasi dari penilitian ini adalah memberikan keadilan promosi jabatan untuk karyawan yang mempunyai kinerja bagus dan bahkan untuk karyawan yang mempunyai kinerja rendah. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini bahwa terdapat pengaruh promosi jabatan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. Maju Ika Jaya, Medan.
