Abstract

Employees performance is an employees’ achievement of work according to the requirement set by the company. Compensation is considered to be one of the methods that can be used to improve the performance of the employees. The purpose of this research is to discover whether there is an effect of compensation on employees performance at PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. This research was done with a quantitative approach. The writer uses census sampling to determine the sample size. The sample size is all employees of PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, which is 52 employees. The data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to the employees of PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. The writer analyzes the data by using descriptive statistics, validity test, reliability test, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, linearity test, simple linear regression analysis, determination test and Z test. The result of determination test shows that 84.5% of employees performance at PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, is influenced by compensation variable. The result of the Z test shows that compensation has an effect on employees performance at PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. The result of the analysis shows that the compensation provided by the company is not enough yet to increase the performance of the employees, as the employees performance at PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, is still poor and not optimal. Therefore, the writer suggests the company to re-design the compensation package by increasing direct and indirect compensation. / Kinerja karyawan adalah pencapaian kerja karyawan sesuai dengan persyaratan yang ditetapkan oleh perusahaan. Kompensasi dianggap sebagai salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada efek dari kompensasi terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penulis menggunakan sensus sampling untuk menentukan ukuran sampel. Ukuran sampel adalah seluruh karyawan PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, yaitu 52 karyawan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada karyawan PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. Penulis menganalisis data dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji linearitas, analisis regresi linier sederhana, uji determinasi, dan uji Z. Hasil uji determinasi menunjukkan bahwa 84,5% kinerja karyawan di PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, dipengaruhi oleh variabel kompensasi. Hasil uji Z menunjukkan bahwa kompensasi memiliki efek terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kompensasi yang diberikan oleh perusahaan belum cukup untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan, karena kinerja karyawan di PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, Binjai, masih buruk dan belum optimal. Oleh karena itu, penulis menyarankan perusahaan untuk mendesain ulang paket kompensasi dengan meningkatkan kompensasi langsung dan tidak langsung.
