Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gangguan makan merupakan penyakit mental dengan angka kematian tertinggi yaitu sekitar 7000 kematian per tahun 2010. Pada tahun 2017, penelitian Heeseon Jang, Hyunggon Kang di Northern Gyeonggi-do, Korea melaporkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara stres dan gangguan makan. Namun, pada penelitian Su Wei Ngan et al di Private Medical College, Malaysia melaporkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara stres dengan risiko gangguan makan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin melakukan penelitian ini untuk mencari hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan gangguan makan pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang dengan metode analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Perceived Stress Scale untuk mengukur tingkat stres dan Eating Disorder Diagnostic Scale untuk mengukur gangguan makan yang diisi secara mandiri oleh responden. Peneliti melakukan analisa data menggunakan SPSS 25 dengan metode Chi-Square. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian yang diambil dari 377 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi menemukan bahwa terdapat 47 (12,5%) responden dengan high perceived stress, 239 (63,4%) responden dengan moderate stress, dan 91 (24,1%) responden dengan low stress. Responden yang mengalami gangguan makan adalah sebanyak 135 (35,8%) responden dan responden yang tidak mengalami gangguan makan adalah sebanyak 242 (64,2%) responden. Mahasiswa dengan high perceived stress memiliki probabilitas lebih besar untuk mengalami gangguan makan dengan OR 3,937 (95% CI = 2,018-7,680 ; p-value 0,000) dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa dengan moderate stress. Mahasiswa dengan moderate stress memiliki probabilitas lebih besar untuk mengalami gangguan makan dengan OR 2,054 (95% CI = 1,160-3,635 ; p-value 0,018) dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa dengan low stress. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres dengan gangguan makan. Probabilitas terjadinya gangguan makan lebih besar pada responden dengan high perceived stress dibandingkan dengan moderate stress, dan pada responden dengan moderate stress dibandingkan dengan low stress. Maka semakin tinggi tingkat stres, semakin besar probabilitas terjadinya gangguan makan. / Background : Eating disorders are a mental illness with the highest mortality rate, which is around 7000 deaths per 2010. In 2017, a study by Heeseon Jang, Hyunggon Kang in Northern Gyeonggi-do, Korea reported that there was a significant relationship between stress and eating disorders. However, in the study of Su Wei Ngan et al at Private Medical College, Malaysia reported that there was no significant relationship between stress and the risk of eating disorders. Therefore, the researcher wanted to conduct this study to find a relationship between stress levels and eating disorders among preclinical students in the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Method: This study used a cross-sectional study design with an unpaired categorical comparative analytic method. Data were collected using the Perceived Stress Scale questionnaire to measure stress levels and the Eating Disorder Diagnostic Scale to measure eating disorders which were filled out independently by respondents. Researchers analysed data using SPSS 25 with the Chi-Square method. Results: The results of the study, which were taken from 377 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, found that there were 47 (12.5%) respondents with high perceived stress, 239 (63.4%) respondents with moderate stress, and 91 (24.1%) respondents. with low stress. Respondents who experienced eating disorders were 135 (35.8%) respondents and respondents who did not experience eating disorders were 242 (64.2%) respondents. Students with high perceived stress have a higher probability of experiencing eating disorders with an OR of 3,937 (95% CI = 2,018-7,680; p-value 0,000) compared to students with moderate stress. Students with moderate stress have a higher probability of experiencing eating disorders with an OR of 2.054 (95% CI = 1.160-3.635; p-value 0.018) compared to students with low stress. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between stress levels and eating disorders. The probability of an eating disorder is higher in respondents with high perceived stress than moderate stress, and in respondents with moderate stress compared to low stress. So the higher the stress level, the higher the probability of eating disorders.
