Notary as a capital market supporting professional has an important role in the IPO process of a company/issuer. Beside the role to make the authentic deeds, there is a fact that Notary also has other important roles in the IPO process. In the IPO process, the company had to pass through various stages in BEI, KSEI and OJK. At BEI’s stage, there are some documents needs to be prepared such as the application letter and statement letters. In practice, the underwriter will add the word "Tbk" on the name of the issuer, for each of the letters in accordance with the existing habits at BEI, which is actually the IPO process is still long until the issuer's really become a public company and entitled to use the word "Tbk" at the end of the issuer's name. The research conducted by the Writer is a normative legal research with the approach of the law (statute approach). The data used are the secondary data consists of primary legal materials, secondary and tertiary. Research is also conducted on PT Link Net Tbk, the company who conducted an IPO in 2014, as a support for the literature study. The data were analyzed qualitatively which generates a descriptive analysis data. In the process of making an authentic deed, the Notary shall ensure that the person who signed the minutes of the deed is the authorized person to represent the respective parties in the deed. In addition to these roles, the Notary also needs to participate actively in examining the legal due diligence result and the contents of the prospectus to be published, so that the presentation are consistent with the actual condition of the issuer. The Notary has to do such roles because the Notary is responsible for an IPO process under the Article 80 of the Capital Market Law and because of the obligation of the Notary for issuing a Profession’s Statement Letter. In relation to the procedure for the usage of the word "Tbk" on the name of the issuer, it can be concluded that although the name of the issuer is already amended by the EGMS’ deed and such deed has received an approval from Menkumham, it does not necessarily allow issuers to use such name for the correspondences, including for the letters which were prepared for the BEI’s purposes, since Article 25 paragraph 1 of the Company Law and Article 9 paragraph 1 PP 43/2011 stipulates that the changes in the articles of association of the company in relation to the status change to become a public company and the abbreviation "Tbk" can only be used in the correspondences after the date of implementation of the public offering/IPO by the issuers. / Notaris merupakan profesi penunjang pasar modal yang memiliki peranan penting dalam proses IPO suatu perusahaan/emiten. Selain peran untuk membuat akta-akta autentik, pada kenyataannya Notaris juga memiliki peranan-peranan lain yang tidak kalah penting dalam suatu proses IPO. Dalam rangka IPO, perusahaan harus melewati berbagai tahapan baik di BEI, KSEI maupun OJK. Pada tahapan di BEI, terdapat dokumen-dokumen yang wajib dipersiapkan seperti surat permohonan dan surat-surat pernyataan. Pada prakteknya, underwriter akan menambahkan kata “Tbk” pada nama emiten untuk setiap surat-surat dimaksud sesuai dengan kebiasaan yang ada di BEI, dimana sebetulnya proses IPO masihlah panjang sampai dengan emiten tersebut benar-benar menjadi perusahaan terbuka dan berhak mencantumkan kata “Tbk” pada akhir nama emiten. Penelitian yang dilakukan Penulis merupakan penelitian hukum normatif dengan pendekatan undang-undang (statute approach). Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yang terdiri dari bahan hukum primer, sekunder dan tersier. Penelitian juga dilakukan terhadap PT Link Net Tbk yang melakukan IPO di tahun 2014 sebagai pendukung studi kepustakaan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif analisis. Dalam proses pembuatan akta-akta autentik, Notaris wajib memastikan bahwa orang yang menandatangani minuta akta adalah orang yang berwenang untuk mewakili pihak-pihak yang ada di dalam akta-akta tersebut. Selain peranan tersebut, Notaris juga turut aktif untuk memeriksa hasil due diligence konsultan hukum dan isi prospektus yang akan diterbitkan, agar yang disajikan sinkron dengan kondisi emiten sebenarnya. Hal tersebut dilakukan karena Notaris memiliki tanggung jawab terhadap suatu proses IPO berdasarkan Pasal 80 UUPM dan terdapatnya Surat Pernyataan Profesi yang diterbitkan oleh Notaris. Kemudian mengenai tata cara penggunaan kata “Tbk” pada nama emiten, dapat disimpulkan bahwa meskipun nama emiten telah diubah dengan ditambahkan kata “Tbk” berdasarkan akta RUPS yang telah mendapatkan persetujuan dari Menkumham, hal tersebut tidak serta merta memperbolehkan emiten dimaksud untuk menggunakan nama yang telah ditambahkan kata “Tbk” tersebut untuk surat menyurat, termasuk surat yang dipersiapkan untuk keperluan BEI, dikarenakan pada Pasal 25 ayat 1 UUPT dan Pasal 9 ayat 1 PP 43/2011 diatur bahwa perubahan anggaran dasar dalam rangka perubahan status menjadi perusahaan terbuka dan singkatan “Tbk” hanya dapat dipakai dalam surat menyurat terhitung sejak tanggal dilaksanakannya penawaran umum/IPO oleh emiten tersebut.
