Abstract
analisis wacana kritis mengikuti metode kognisi sosial Teun A. van Dijk. Pengumpulan
menggambarkan mengenai kesehatan mental terutama mengenai konsep penerimaan
mereka./ Mental health is still considered taboo to be discussed in general society,
especially people who adhere to Eastern cultures such as South Korea and Indonesia.
Lack of information and knowledge, as well as cultural background, causes a negative
stigma against mental health, including mental illness, such as stress and depression.
BTS, one of the global superstar icons in K-pop, tries to provide their fans with insight
into mental health consistently and simply through their works, namely through song
lyrics.
This study used a qualitative approach with critical discourse analysis research
methods following van Dijk's social cognition theory. The research data collection was
carried out with primary and secondary data, namely literature study and interviews.
The interview was conducted with a group of BTS fans.
The results showed that the lyrics of the song 'Black Swan' by BTS describe
mental health, especially regarding the concept of self-acceptance and self-love and the
process of problem solving in life. This is motivated by the idea of BTS as an agent of
change among youth, to change something that was previously considered negative to
be more positive, based on their daily life experiences. This makes the message
conveyed more effective because it is closer to the life and daily experiences of each
individual who listens to their works.
