Abstract

Teknologi memegang peranan penting dalam mempermudah kegiatan - kegiatan yang ada dalam sebuah perusahaan. Dengan adanya teknologi, proses – proses yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara manual dapat dijalankan secara otomatis, sehingga meningkatkan akurasi dan mengurangi waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk menjalankan proses – proses tersebut. Kegiatan melihat data karyawan, permohonan cuti tahunan dan cuti khusus, maupun perbaikan data absensi di MPPA saat ini masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan sarana e-mail maupun form hardcopy, di mana banyaknya jumlah permohonan menyebabkan proses tersebut menjadi lambat dan tidak efisien. Proses validasi permohonan – permohonan tersebut juga rentan terhadap human error. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan aplikasi Employee Self Service (ESS) yang dapat memfasilitasi kegiatan – kegiatan tersebut. Pembuatan tugas akhir ini memiliki fokus untuk mengembangkan aplikasi ESS menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development. Aplikasi tersebut dibangun menggunakan framework ASP.NET MVC dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman C#. Pengembangan aplikasi ini menggunakan pemodelan UML versi 2.0 dengan class diagram, use case diagram, dan activity diagram. Hasil akhir dari tugas akhir ini adalah aplikasi Employee Self Service berbasis web yang akan memfasilitasi karyawan dalam melihat data mereka, serta mengajukan permohonan cuti tahunan, cuti khusus, dan perbaikan data absensi. / Technology plays an important role in facilitating the ongoing activities in a company. With the assistance of technology, processes that used to be done manually can now be done automatically, resulting in increased level of acuracy and reduction of time needed in performing those processes. In MPPA, accesing an employee data, requesting an annual and special leave, as well as revising attendance data is currently being executed manually using means such as e-mail and hardcopy form, whereby excessive number of those requests resulting in a slow and inefficient process. The validation process of those requests is also susceptible to human error. Hence, arise the need of an application called Employee Self Service (ESS) that can facilitate the need of those requests. This thesis is focused on developing the ESS application using Rapid Application Development method. This application is build using ASP.NET MVC framework, and using C# programming language. Furthermore, this application model is developed using UML version 2.0, with class diagram, use case diagram, and activity diagram. The final result of this thesis is a web-based Employee Self Service application, that will help and facilitate employees in accessing their datas, requesting an annual leave, special leave, and revising their attendance data.
