Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat hubungan antara trust dengan romantic partner conflict strategy pada emerging adulthood yang menjalani hubungan berpacaran jarak jauh. Hubungan berpacaran jarak jauh akan lebih sulit dijalani karena kurangnya pertemuan langsung secara tatap muka dengan pasangan sehingga dapat menyebabkan terjadinya berbagai konflik dalam hubungan. Konflik merupakan hal yang tidak dapat dihindari dan dapat memberikan dampak negatif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi penyelesaian konflik yang tepat dan constructive untuk membangun hubungan romantis yang sehat. Salah satu komponen pacaran yang mempengaruhi strategi penyelesaian konflik adalah rasa saling percaya satu sama lain atau trust. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasi. Sebanyak 129 partisipan di Jabodetabek yang sedang menjalani hubungan berpacaran jarak jauh diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Skala Trust dan Romantic Partner Conflict Strategy yang telah diadaptasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara trust dengan strategi compromise, adanya hubungan negatif yang siginfikan antara trust dengan strategi interactional reactivity, separation, dan domination, dan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara trust dengan strategi avoidance ataupun submission / The purpose of this study was to look at the relationship between trust and conflict strategies for romantic partners in emerging adulthood who undergo long distance dating relationships. Distance dating relationships will be more difficult to live due to direct physical encounters with partners that can lead to various conflict in the relationships. Conflict is unavoidable and can have a negative impact. Therefore, appropriate and constructive settlement strategies are needed to build a healthy romantic relationship. One of components of courtship that influence each other’s conflict resolution strategy is mutual trust. This research uses quantitative research methods by using techniques. A total of 129 participants in Jabodetabek who were undergoing long distance dating were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this research is adapted Trust Scale and Romantic Partner Conflict Strategy. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between trust with a compromise strategy, a significant negative relationship between trust and interactional reactivity, separation, and domination strategy, and no significant relationship between relationship between trust and avoidance or submission strategy
