Abstract

One of the most popular pets in the world are dogs. However, dog owners usually do not train their dogs well, such as to teach them where to do their business. When a dog is about to go, they usually have a nature of circling around the floor while sniffing, running around aggresively and else. However, not many people know such information about their dogs, and the outcome of an untrained dog could be bothersome for their owners for going wherever they want. That is why it is important to build a detection system. In this thesis, a system will be arranged to detect a dog’s movement when they’re about to “go” and let it’s owner know. The system will be using an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor, which is an electronic device that measures and reports speed, orientation, and force of gravity which is relevant to a dog’s behavior when they’re about to go. The system will carry out tests for three different subjects. The expected result is to be able to witness a dog doing its business after the alert was given. In conclusion, when the IMU sensor detected the dog’s behavior that indicates it wants to go, the system will automatically send an alert to it’s owner. The test results on two of the subjects are 100% successful, and the results of the other subject are relatively successful. /Salah satu hewan yang digemari untuk dipelihara di dunia adalah anjing. Akan tetapi, sebagian besar pemilik anjing tidak mampu untuk melatih peliharaannya sendiri seperti membiasakannya untuk buang air besar dan kecil pada tempatnya. Karena itulah pada umumnya orang meminta bantuan ahli untuk melatih peliharannya. Ketika seekor anjing ingin membuang air, ia memiliki kebiasaan berputar-putar sambil mencium-cium lantai. Namun, banyak orang yang tidak mengetahui informasi tersebut. Akibatnya, anjing peliharaan dapat membuat pemiliknya repot karena buang air sembarangan. Itulah pentingnya bagi pemilik anjing untuk dapat mengetahui kapan ketika anjing ingin buang air. Oleh karena itu, perlu dirancang sebuah sistem peringatan ketika anjing peliharaannya sedang ingin membuang air. Pada tugas akhir ini, akan disusun sebuah sistem untuk mendeteksi kebiasaan-kebiasaan hewan ketika ingin membuang air besar dan kecil. Untuk sistem peringatan ini akan digunakan sensor IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) yang merupakan sebuah perangkat elektronik yang mengukur dan melaporkan kecepatan, orientasi, dan gaya gravitasi. Sistem ini akan diuji kepada tiga subjek yang berbeda. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah untuk menyaksikan anjing membuang air setelah peringatan diberikan. Untuk konklusinya, ketika sensor IMU mendeteksi perilaku anjing yang ingin buang air, sistem akan secara otomatis memberi peringatan kepada pemilik anjing. Hasil pengujian pada dua subjek adalah 100% berhasil, sedangkan kepada subjek ketiga masih relatif berhasil.
