Abstract
Sesuai dengan perkembangan jaman, perkembangan teknologi beton sekarang
mengarah kepada pelestarian lingkungan yaitu dengan cara mempergunakan
limbah-limbah yang sudah tidak terpakai sebagai bahan baku pembuatan beton
yang sejak dahulu selalu menggunakan material-material alam. Dalam penelitian
ini limbah-limbah beton yang tidak terpakai lagi digunakan dalam pembuatan
suatu campuran pada beton baru, pengunaan limbah-limbah beton tersebut sebagai
pengganti agregat kasar dengan cara dihancurkan sampai mencapai ukuran
maksimum 1inch. Benda uji dikelompokkan menjadi tiga golongan yaitu
golongan I adalah benda uji beton yang menggunakan agregat dari limbah beton
dengan kekuatan asal fc’ 18 dan 19 MPa, golongan II adalah benda uji yang
menggunakan agregat dari limbah beton dengan kekuatan asal fc’ 25 dan 30 MPa,
golongan III adalah benda uji yang menggunakan agregat dari limbah beton
dengan kekuatan asal K-400. Metode mix design mempergunakan BS-5328 yaitu
DoE Method dalam perencanaan campuran beton baru yang direncanakan pada
kekuatan beton fc’ = 25 MPa. Penentuan karakteristik agregat dari limbah beton
menggunakan metode ASTM. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dengan
menggunakan agregat dari limbah beton sebagai pengganti agregat kasar pada
campuran beton akan menghasilkan kuat tekan beton sebesar 84% - 88 % dari
kekuatan rencana. Selain itu dengan mengelompokan jenis agregat dari limbah
beton sesuai dengan kekuatan asalnya, tidak memperlihatkan perbedaan yang
nyata pada hasil kuat tekan beton yang baru./ Concrete usually uses aggregate from environment. Nowadays the development of
concrete technology tends to protect the environment by using concrete waste as
the source of coarse aggregate, replacing natural aggregate, in a new mix design to
create concrete, known as recycle concrete. In this research, the concrete waste is
crushed into smaller material with 1 inch maximum size. The samples used in this
research are categorized into three types. The first type is sample that contains
aggregates from former compression strength of 18 MPa and 19 MPa. The second
type is sample that contains aggregates from former compression strength of 25
MPa and 30 MPa. The third type is sample that uses aggregates from former
compression strength of K-400. The process of new mix design is based on DoE Method (BS-5328). The target of the compression strength is 25 MPa. The
characteristic of coarse aggregate from concrete waste is determined by ASTM.
From the result of this research shows that compression test of new concrete
which uses coarse aggregate derived from concrete waste will reach 84% - 88% of
its target compression strength. Besides, the sample’s compression strength using
aggregates from different source of concrete waste only shows slightly different.
