Abstract

Aspal sebagai bahan pengikat merupakan material penting dalam konstruksi jalan. Karakteristik aspal mempengaruhi kinerja campuran beraspal. Oleh karena itu, aspal dengan kualitas yang baik akan menghasilkan campuran perkerasan dengan kinerja yang baik. Ada berbagai cara untuk meningkatkan kualitas aspal, salah satu cara untuk memperbaiki kualitas aspal adalah dengan menambah suatu bahan yang halus atau biasa disebut filler. Dalam kasus digunakan filler berupa lateks alam. Penelitian mengenai aspal lateks ini telah banyak dilakukan dan hasilnya telah banyak diterapkan dalam pembuatan perkerasan jalan di luar negeri. Perbaikan mutu aspal dengan penambahan lateks dapat menghambat kerusakan perkerasan jalan di Indonesia yang beriklim tropis. Dilihat dari sifat kekakuan aspal yang ditunjukkan oleh angka titk lembek aspal yang cenderung meningkat setelah ditambah lateks. Didalam penelitian ini diuraikan hasil perbandingan sifat aspal lateks yang dihasilkan pada aspal Retona TBR 55 ditambah dengan 2% - 6% lateks alam KKK 60 dengan metode SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) dan pendekatan Statistik. Dari percobaan dapat disimpulkan kadar optimum aspal retona berdasarkan data empiris dan parabolik berdasarkan metode SNI adalah 6% dan 5,2% sedangkan berdasarkan pendekatan statistik adalah 6% dan 5,4%. Kemudian dengan ditambahkan lateks alam, nilai Marshall dan stabilitas dari campuran aspal Retona TBR 55 mengalami penurunan, tetapi memperkecil rongga yang ada di dalam campuran aspal Retona TBR 55./ Asphalt as the adhesive is an important material for the road construction. Its characteristic affects the performance of the asphalt--mixed material. Therefore, asphalt with a good quality will produce a good quality of the asphalt--mixed material. There are many ways to increase the quality of asphalt which one of the way is adding a soft material (filler). In this research is using the natural latex as the filler. There are many researches on latex asphalt which the result has been implemented in rigid pavement construction. The implementation of adding latex on asphalt can increase its quality and delay the damage of rigid pavement construction e.g. in Indonesia that has tropical climate, on the perspective of rigidity character as shown by its melting point which increases after adding the latex. This research explained the comparison result of SNI, Indonesia National Standard, and statistical approach of asphalt characteristic produced by asphalt Retona TBR 55 added with 2% - 6% of natural latex KKK 60. From the research can be concluded that the optimum contained of asphalt Retona TBR 55 based on the empirical data and parabolic with SNI approach is 6% and 5,2% and based on the statistical approach is 6% and 5,4%. Then, by adding the natural latex into mixed material of asphalt Retona TB55, the Marshall quotient and its stability will decline, but it tapered the pore in the asphalt Retona TBR 55 mixed material.
