Abstract

Lemahnya kuat geser tanah dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kelongsoran lereng, hujan lebat yang menyebabkan tanah menjadi jenuh air juga mempengaruhi hal ini. Penelitian tentang stabilisasi lereng yang efisien, murah, dan mudah untuk diterapkan telah banyak dilakukan, salah satu alternatif adalah metode stabilisasi secara vegetatif dengan menggunakan Vetiveria Zizanoides karena memiliki berat sendiri yang ringan, dan memiliki akar serabut yang kuat yang dapat menopang lereng dari kelongsoran lateral. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melkukan pengambilan sampel tanah dari lokasi UPH dan Garut. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian di laboratorium mekanika tanah UPH untuk mendapatkan index properties tanahnya. Selain itu dilakukan pengujian kuat tarik akar dan juga penghitungan jumlah akar untuk mendapatkan properti akar. Pengamatan terhadap pergerakan permukaan lereng UPH dilakukan dengan menggunakan theodolit. Peningkatan kohesi tanah akibat akar vetiver menjadi fokus didalam penelitian ini. Pendekatan matematis dilakukan untuk mencari pengaruh kuat tarik akar terhadap peningkatan kohesi tanah dalam suatu luasan tertentu, yang biasa disebut dengan root area ratio (RAR), dan perhitungan pengaruh jumlah akar per satuan panjang. Hasil peningkatan kohesi teoritis kemudian akan dibandingkan dengan hasil laboratorium data lapangan, dan akan dijadikan input pemodelan PLAXIS dalam beberapa jenis skenario pemodelan. Hasil perbandingan pemodelan PLAXIS antara pemodelan lereng netral dengan pengaruh pertambahan luasan kohesi menghasilkan peningkatan sebesar 88.4%, sedangkan jika dibandingkan dengan pemodelan root quantity/ length didapatkan peningkatan sebesar 37.1%. hal itu menunjukkan bahwa daerah luasan yang terpengaruh oleh cr memberi sumbangan yang lebih bagi FOS, dibandingkan dengan kwantitas akar tanaman./ Weak soil strength may cause slope failure. Heavy rains that caused the soil become saturated with water also affect this. Research on the stabilization of slopes that are efficient, inexpensive, and easy to apply has been carried out. One alternative is the vegetative stabilization method using Vetiveria Zizanoides because it has light weight, and strong fibrous roots that can sustain the slope from lateral landslide. This research was conducted by sampling the soil from the UPH and Garut. Then test is conducted in soil mechanics laboratory UPH to obtain the soil index properties. Tensile strength test is also conducted and the number of roots is also counted to obtain the root properties. Observations on the movement of UPH slope surface is also conducted with the use of theodolit. Increased in soil cohesion due to roots of vetiver is the focus of this research. Mathematical approach is used to find the effect of root tensile strength to the increase of soil cohesion within a certain area, usually called the root area ratio (RAR), and calculating the effect of the number of roots per unit length. The increase in theoretical cohesion result will then be compared with field laboratory data, and will be used as input for PLAXIS modeling in some type of modeling scenarios. Comparison result of PLAXIS neutral slopes modeling with effect of increase in area of cohesion produces an increase of 88.4%, while compared with the modeling of root quantity / length showed an increase of 37.1%. This shows that the local area affected by the cr contribute more to the FOS, compared with the quantity of plant roots.
