Nowadays, various hoax spreads across the internet. Mass media captured these realities and turns it into news. Tempo is one of the media which write about this phenomena in their magazine, specifically in Wabah Hoax edition. Tempo compiles their news in a narrative style story, having character and narrative structure, to construct the hoax spreading phenomena. The purpose of this research is to find the construction of news written by Tempo which depicted through structure and character in the narration. This research uses a qualitative approach with narrative analysis method. The data analysis technique used is the Vladimir Propp‟s analysis of the narrative function in order to find characters that perform certain functions and analysis of narrative structure according to Nick Lacey Modified–Zvetan Todorov method to find the narrative structure on the news written by Tempo. The research shows that the construction of the news appears in the form of narrative news which has the stages of continuity of disruption and partial narration on narrative structure and villain-centric pattern to show the dominance of villain character in narration. Through the story‟s narration, Tempo wants to construct the social reality about the significance of conflict and the magnitude of this phenomenon which opposed to humanism–the main value that Tempo holds in every news. / Beragam hoaks hingga kini banyak tersebar di dunia maya. Media massa menangkap realitas tersebut dan menuliskannya sebagai berita. Tempo merupakan salah satu media yang menulis fenomena hoaks pada majalah edisi “Wabah Hoax”. Tempo menyusun narasi beritanya sebagai cerita yang memiliki karakter dan struktur narasi untuk mengkonstruksi fenomena penyebaran hoaks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan gambaran konstruksi realitas dalam berita Tempo yang tergambar lewat struktur dan karakter dalam narasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis naratif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis fungsi narasi Vladimir Propp untuk bisa menemukan karakter yang menjalankan fungsi tertentu dan analisis struktur narasi menurut Zvetan Todorov yang dimodifikasi oleh Nick Lacey untuk menemukan struktur narasi pada berita yang ditulis Tempo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi pemberitaan Tempo tampak dalam bentuk narasi berita yang memiliki tahapan kontinuitas gangguan dan narasi parsial pada struktur narasinya dan pola penjahat-sentris untuk menunjukkan dominasi karakter penjahat dalam narasi. Melalui narasi beritanya Tempo ingin mengkonstruksi realitas sosial tentang besarnya konflik dan magnitude dari fenomena ini yang bertentangan dengan humanisme sebagai nilai utama yang dipegang Tempo dalam setiap pemberitaannya.
