Nowadays, there are lot of ways to access and enjoy movie, one of them is alternative cinema. The presence of alternative cinema became the new phenomenon in society who has a role among the development of Indonesia’s movie. In this study, I have focused on the very first and the oldest alternative cinema called Kineforum. Millenials Generation is the demographic following the 18-37 years old who classified as technology savvy and involved technology in every aspect of life. However, the highest population to watch alternative cinema is millenials generation. However, the spirit of millenials generation to watch cinema is really high and do not influenced by the presence of technology. Therefore, I want to research about how millenials generation construct Kineforum the alternative cinema. This study used qualitative approachment with paradigm of constructivism that explaining the importance of obaervation and objectivity in finding a social reality. I used the method of phenomenon to reduce, display and present the summary of research. As for the theory, Inused the theory of interaction symbolic and the theory of social construction. The result of this study showed that the millenials generation can construct the new concepts about alternative cinema. It classified as appreciation space, hipster cinema, value integrity, Kineforum, discover of alternative movie. I suggest in the next research to expand the object of the research who are not only from young millenials but cover the wider segmentation to get the richer research. / Media film sebagai benda budaya mempunyai pilihan cara untuk mengakses dan menikmatinya, satunya adalah dengan menonton di bioskop alternatif. Hadirnya bioskop alternatif menjadi fenomena baru ditengah masyarakat yang berperan besar akan perkembangan film Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti memfokuskan pada bioskop alternatif pertama dan tertua di Jakarta, Kineforum. Generasi Millenial sebagai generasi dengan usia produktif (18-37th) adalah generasi yang berteman baik dengan teknologi. Hampir berbagai aspek kehidupannya, generasi millennial melibatkan teknologi. Namun dalam pengamatan peneliti, penonton bioskop alternatif justru adalah generasi millennial. Kehadiran teknologi tidak serta merta menghalangi generasi millennial untuk datang menonton film langsung. Hadirnya fenomena ini lah yang membuat peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana generasi millennial mengkonstruksi bioskop alternatif Kineforum?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme yang menjelaskan pentingnya pengamatan dan objektivitas dalam menemukan suatu realitas sosial. Metode yang peneliti gunakan adalah fenomenologi dengan mereduksi, menampilkan data dan menyajikan kesimpulan penelitian. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori fenomenologi dan teori konstruksi sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penonton generasi millennial membangun konsep-konsep baru akan bioskop alternatif yang peneliti beri label sebagai ruang apresiasi, bioskop hipster, integritas value, Kineforum, discover film alternatif. Saran dipenelitian selanjutnya dapat meluaskan objek penelitain tidak hanya pada generasi millennial namun pada generasi – generasi lainnya untuk mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang lebih kaya.
