Abstract

The PWMD phenomenon in 2013 to 2018 is an interesting issue to be discussed. Law number 18 of 2014 on mental health explains that PWMD is a part of society. That means PWMD has the same rights as people with normal consciousness in interaction. The interaction between PWMD which in interpersonal communication due to verbal communication and non-verbal communication usage. However, the level of consciousness between PWMD and people with normal consciousness is different. Thus, the interaction that consists of verbal and non-verbal communication are also different. This condition also happens to PWMD at Al-Fajar Berseri foundation who interacts based on interest. This interesting ultimately leads to communication patterns. In formulating the communication patterns, symbolic interaction theory and semiotics theory are needed to discuss and analyze PWMD’s interactions in the form of recording of daily activities, including certain pictures and texts. The findings show that communication patterns, such as ‘crush’ of the opposite sex, hobbies, planned crowds, and unplanned crowds, are the trigger of interaction amongst PWMD. / Fenomena ODGJ dari tahun 2013 hingga 2018 menarik untuk dibahas. Pasalnya, pada UU nomor 18 tahun 2014 tentang kesehatan jiwa menerangkan bahwa ODGJ merupakan bagian dari masyarakat. Itu berarti ODGJ punya hak yang sama seperti orang dengan kesadaran normal dalam berinteraksi. Interaksi antar ODGJ yang termasuk dalam komunikasi antarpribadi terbangun dari penggunaan komunikasi verbal dan komunikasi non verbal. Hanya saja, karena tingkat kesadaran yang dimiliki antar ODGJ maupun orang dengan kesadaran normal tidaklah sama. Hal ini membuat interaksi yang terdiri dari komunikasi verbal dan non verbal pun berbeda. Seperti ODGJ penghuni yayasan Al-Fajar Berseri yang berinteraksi berdasarkan ketertarikan. Ketertarikan inilah yang akhirnya membawa kepada pola komunikasi. Dalam menemukan pola komunikasi tersebut, penggunaan teori interaksi simbolik dan teori semiotika dibutuhkan untuk membahas dan menganalisis interaksi ODGJ yang berupa rekaman aktivitas sehari-hari dalam bentuk potongan gambar dan teks. Hasil temuan menunjukkan pola komunikasi seperti ‘naksir’ lawan jenis, hobi, kerumunan terencana, dan kerumunan tak terencana menjadi pemicu interaksi terjadi oleh sesama ODGJ.
