Keselamatan pasien (patient safety) merupakan suatu variable untuk mengukur dan mengevaluasi kualitas pelayanan keperawatan. Keselamatan Pasien yaitu ketepatan identifikasi pasien yang bertujuan untuk dapat mengidentifikasi pasien yang dirawat inap di rumah sakit. Rumah sakit harus memiliki sistem yang bisa mengatur keamanan untuk pasien. Kesalahan karena salah identifikasi sering menjadi penyebab masalah dihampir semua aspek atau tahapan diagnosis dan pemberian pelayanan kesehatan yang dibutuhkan. Oleh karena itu perawat juga memiliki peran penting dalam keselamatan pasien dengan mengidentifikasi pasien sebelum memberikan asuhan keperawatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran pelaksanaan Identifikasi pasien diruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Swasta di Indonesia bagian Tengah. Sampel yang digunakan sebagai responden adalah perawat yang bekerja di ruang rawat inap di satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia bagian Tengah dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling dengan jumlah responden 30 perawat akan tetapi populasi yang di ambil yaitu 25 perawat aktif sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dengan hasil sebanyak 12 dari 25 responden (sebanyak 48%) melakukan identifikasi dengan tepat sedangkan ditemukan 13 dari 25 responden (sebanyak 52%) tidak melakukan identifikasi dengan tepat. Saran dari tim peneliti bagi Institusi Kesehatan yang ada untuk lebih memperhatikan proses pelaksanaan identifikasi pasien yang dilakukan oleh perawat untuk menghindari kesalahan dalam proses asuhan keperawatan dirumah sakit = Patient safety (patient safety) is a variable to measure and evaluate the quality of nursing services. Patient Safety is the accuracy of patient identification which aims to identify patient who are hospitalized in the hospital. Hospitals must have a system that can regulate safety for patients. Errors due to misidentification are often the cause of problems in almost all aspects or stages of diagnosis and the provision of health services needed. Therefore nurses also have an important role in patient safety by identifying patients before providing nursing care.The purpose of this study is to find out how the description of the implementation of patient identification in the inpatient unit of the Private Hospital in Central Indonesia. This research used descriptive quantitative as a method. The samples used as respondents are nurses who work in the inpatient unit in a Central Indonesian Private Hospital. Sampling was taken by total sampling method as many 30 nurses respondents,but the five nurses can not joint as participants because does not meet inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation with results of 12 out of 25 respondents (as many as 48%) correctly identifying whereas found 13 of 25 respondents (as much as 52%) did not identify properly. Suggestions from the research team for existing Health Institutions is to give more attention to the process of implementing patient identification conducted by nurses to avoid errors in the process of nursing care in hospitals.
