Latar Belakang: Kemoterapi adalah cara mengobati kanker secara sistemik dengan tujuan menghentikan, menghambat, dan menghancurkan inti sel untuk membelah diri dalam siklus kehidupan sel, kemoterapi dapat diberikan secara peroral atau intravena. Kemoterapi primer (paliatif) adalah terapi yang diberikan pada stadium lanjut, yang bertujuan untuk mempertahankan kualitas hidup yang baik, kontrol progresi tumor, dan memperlama harapan hidup. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gambaran kualitas hidup pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi di Satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Menggunakan instrumen European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of life Questionnaire C-30 (EORTC QLQ C-30) berupa 30 pertanyaan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah pasien yang menjalani kemoterapi di Satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 55 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil Penelitian : Gambaran kualitas hidup menunjukkan sebagian besar aspek kualitas hidup pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi kualitas hidup sedang sebanyak 49 responden (81.1%), sedangkan responden yang memiliki kualitas hidup buruk sebanyak 6 responden (10,9%). Diskusi : Kualitas hidup pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu usia, jenis kelamin, pendidikan terakhir, jenis kanker dan frekuensi kemoterapi = Background: Chemotherapy is a specialized way of doing cancer with the aim of inhibiting, inhibiting, and decomposing the cell nucleus to divide in the life cycle, chemotherapy can be given by mouth or intravenously. Primary chemotherapy (palliative) is a therapy that provides an advanced stage, which aims to maintain good quality of life, growth of tumor progression, and prolong life expectancy. Purpose: This study aims to identify quality of life cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at One West Indonesia Private Hospital. Method: This research use qualitative research method by using descriptive. By using European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of life Questionnaire C-30 (EORTC QLQ C-30) instrument there are 30 questions. The population of this study were patients who underwent chemotherapy at One West Indonesia Private Hospital with 55 respondents. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling. Research result: an overview of the quality of life showed most of the aspects of the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, the moderate quality of life are as many as 49 of the respondents (81.1%), while the respondents have a poor quality of life as much as 6 respondents (10.9%). Discussion: The quality of life of patients cancer undergoing chemotheraphy is influenced by several factors: age, sex, recent education, type of cancer, and frequency of cancer.
