Kanker payudara adalah penyebab kematian terbesar. Kualitas hidup merupakan tujuan penting dalam pengobatan kanker, dan kekhawatiran akan kondisi fisik, psikologis, gangguan citra tubuh, serta gejala – gejala yang dapat menimbulkan distress yang perlu segera diantisipasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien kanker. Fenomena yang terjadi, dari hasil observasi tiga pasien terlihat semangat menjalani kemoterapi, dua pasien lainnya terlihat tidak semangat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran kualitas hidup pada pasien kanker payudara di satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat, dengan desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien rawat jalan dengan diagnosa kanker payudara di satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat pada bulan Februari – Maret 2018 dengan jumlah total 80 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan convenience sampling, sebanyak 31 responden. Hasil penelitan terdapat 14 responden dalam kualitas hidup baik (45,2%) dan 17 responden dalam kualitas hidup sedang (54,8%). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas hidup pasien kanker payudara di satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat dalam rentang sedang. Rekomendasi untuk peneliti selanjutnya meneliti hubungan antara kualitas hidup pasien kanker payudara dengan proses penyakitnya = Breast cancer is the biggest cause of death. The phenomenon occurred, from the observations three patients’ seen enthusiasm endured the chemotherapy, while two others patients’ didn’t. The purposed of these research was to know the description quality of life in breast cancer patients’ at a Private Hospital in the Western Part of Indonesia, with quantitative descriptive research designed. The population of these research was outpatients’ with breast cancer diagnosed at a Private Hospital in the Western Part of Indonesia on February – March 2018 with total of 80 people. The technique used was convenience sampling, with 31 respondents. The results were 14 respondents in a good quality of life (45,2%) and 17 respondents in a middle quality of life (54,8%). In concluded that the quality of life of breast cancer patients’ at a Private Hospital in the Western Part of Indonesia were in middle. Recommendation for subsequent researcher was examine the relationship between quality of life of breast cancer patients’ with the diseases process.
