Abstract

Hand washing is a process of cleaning the dirt from the skin of both hands by using soap and running water for 40-60 seconds. Although the handwashing behavior of soap in Indonesia has increased from 23.2% to 47% in one year, the rate of data is below 50% and the data does not identify this wash behavior occurs at the right time and does not differentiate between hand washing with or without soap. Every month there are ± 200 patients who come to the Siloam Mamit clinic with 5 major diseases, ISPA, GEA, Scabies, Gastritis and injuries, this is the impact of low clean and healthy life behavior, one of them wash hands with soap. The purpose of this study is to know the knowledge of handwashing with soap in the patient at the Siloam Mamit clinic in Papua. The method used is descriptive quantitative with cross-sectional design method, that is data retrieval is done at one time. The population amounted to ± 200 patients per month, the sample with the calculation of the slovin formula is 67 patients. This sampling technique using Purposive sampling is intentional sampling and according to the will of the researcher, the patient who came to the clinic treatment Siloam Mamit in nofember and meet the inclusion criteria of patients with age 20-60 years. Analysis of data used is, Univariate Analysis (Descriptive Analysis) aims to explain or describe the characteristics of research variables. Results showed 2 respondents (3.0%) had good knowledge, 2 respondents (3.0%) with enough knowledge and 63 respondents (94%) had less knowledge. Conclusions The description of knowledge about handwashing using soap in outpatients is lacking / Cuci tangan adalah proses pembersihan kotoran dari kulit kedua belah tangan dengan memakai sabun dan air mengalir selama 40-60 detik. Walaupun perilaku cuci tangan menggunakan sabun di Indonesia sudah mengalami peningkatan dari 23,2% menjadi 47% dalam satu tahun, namun penigkatan data tersebut dibawah 50% dan data tersebut tidak mengidentifikasi perilaku mencuci tangan ini terjadi pada saat yang benar dan tidak membedakan antara mencuci tangan dengan atau tanpa sabun. Setiap bulan tercatat ada ±200 pasien yang datang berobat ke klinik Siloam Mamit dengan 5 penyakit terbesar yaitu, ISPA, GEA, Scabies, Gastritis dan luka-luka, ini merupakan dampak dari rendahnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, salah satunya cuci tangan menggunakan sabun. Tujuan diketahuinya gambaran pengetahuan tentang cuci tangan menggunakan sabun pada pasien rawat di klinik Siloam Mamit Papua. Metode yang digunakan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan design metode cross sectional, yaitu pengambilan data dilakukan pada satu waktu. Populasi berjumlah ± 200 pasien setiap bulannya, sampel dengan perhitungan rumus slovin ialah 67 pasien. Teknik sampling ini menggunakan Purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel secara sengaja dan sesuai kehendak peneliti yaitu, pasien yang datang berobat ke klinik Siloam Mamit pada bulan nofember dan memenuhi kriteri inklusi yaitu pasien dengan umur 20-60 tahun. Analisa data yang digunakan yaitu, Analisis Univariate (Analisis Deskriptif) bertujuan untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan karakteristik variabel penelitian. Hasil menunjukan 2 responden (3,0%) memiliki pengetahuan baik, 2 responden (3,0%) dengan pengetahuan cukup dan selebihnya 63 responden (94%) memiliki pengetahuan kurang. Kesimpulan gambaran pengetahuan tentang cuci tangan menggunakan sabun pada pasien rawat jalan adalah kurang.
