Abstract

Background: Fall is a serious problem in hospitals especially for inpatients. One way to prevent children patients from falling is through the humpty dumpty assessment. Based on a report, falls on children in Siloam Hospitals Makassar is still high which is 0,5%. The phenomenon of patients falling is caused by to the negligence of the nurse and the patient's family. The method of this research is quantitative descriptive design with univariate analysis. The process of data collection in this research using an instrument such as questionnaires that created by a 15 items questions about the knowledge of nurses and about 10 items for family role statements gained in observations. The data is presented in the form of percentage and tables. The results of the analysis of univariate data concludes that the nurses' knowledge about the risk of falls in most of the 13 people is less knowledgeable (46.4%) and the results of the analysis of the role of the family or good plays as many as 28 of the total respondents (100%). The discussion of this study showed that the level of knowledge of nurses regarding the risk of falls in children is still lack, so it can affect the quality of the service at the hospital. However, the role of the family to accompany the inpatient children at the hospitals is good. The family role as facilitators able to guide, assist, and meet the needs of the children during the illness. These efforts can also be functioned as a curative as well as rehabilitative treatment. Suggestion is expected that the Nursing Division of the hospital can conduct training and counseling regularly on the prevention of fall risk and increase the knowledge of nurses on prevention of the risk of falling pediatric patients / Latar Belakang: Jatuh merupakan suatu masalah yang serius di rumah sakit terutama bagi pasien rawat inap. Salah satu upaya untuk mencegah pasien jatuh pada anak adalah melalui pengkajian humpty dumty. Kejadian jatuh pada anak di Siloam hospitals Makassar dilaporkan masih tinggi yaitu 0,5%. Fenomena pasien jatuh dikarenakan kelalaian dari perawat dan keluarga pasien. Metode Penelitian ini adalah desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis univariat. Instrument pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan kuesioner yang dibuat oleh peneliti sebanyak 15 pertanyaan pengetahuan perawat dan 10 pernyataan peran keluarga yang diperoleh dalam observasi. Data disajikan dalam bentuk tabel presentase. Hasil analisa data univariat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan perawat mengenai risiko jatuh pada anak sebagian besar berpengetahuan kurang 13 orang (46,4%) dan hasil analisa peran keluarga baik atau berperan sebanyak 28 dari total keseluruhan responden (100%). Pembahasan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan perawat mengenai risiko jatuh pada anak masih kurang sehingga dapat berpengaruh pada kualitas pelayan di rumah sakit. Namun peran keluarga sangat baik dalam mendamping keluarga selama di rumah sakit. Peran keluarga sebagai fasilitator mampu membimbing, membantu, dan memenuhi kebutuhan anggota keluarga selama sakit. Upaya ini juga dapat berfungsi sebagai rehabilitative maupun kuratif. Saran Diharapkan agar Divisi keperawatan rumah sakit dapat melakukan pelatihan dan penyuluhan secara rutin mengenai pencegahan risiko jatuh sehingga dapat menambah pengetahuan perawat mengenai pencegahan risiko jatuh pasien anak.
