Latar belakang: Apendisitis merupakan peradangan apendiks vermiformis yang dapat disebabkan oleh obstruksi lumen apendiks. Apendisitis menjadi salah satu penyebab operasi abdominal gawat darurat yang paling umum dengan sekitar 11 kasus per 10.000 orang per tahunnya. Operasi apendektomi terbuka hingga kini masih menjadi baku emas penatalaksanaan apendisitis akut meski apendektomi laparoskopik memiliki nyeri pasca operasi yang secara signifikan lebih rendah. Nyeri pasca operasi penting untuk diperhatikan karena dapat mengganggu kenyamanan, aktifitas, serta mensupresi sistem imun pasien. Terdapat banyak penelitian yang membandingkan nyeri pasca operasi apendektomi terbuka dan laparoskopik berdasarkan dosis analgesik yang diberikan pasca operasi, namun masih sangat sedikit yang mengukur nyeri pasca operasi menggunakan metode VAS. Selain itu, masih sangat sedikit penelitian yang menggunakan sampel dari Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian: Mengetahui perbandingan tingkat nyeri pasca operasi pada pasien apendisitis akut yang menjalani apendektomi terbuka dengan apendektomi laparoskopik di Siloam Hospital Lippo Village. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang dengan populasi sampel penelitian pasien apendisitis akut pasca operasi apendektomi terbuka atau apendektomi laparoskopik di Siloam Hospital Lippo Village. 70 orang sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) diambil dari rekam medis pasien dan akan diolah menggunakan uji Mann- U-Whitney. Hasil: Dari 70 sampel, 36 sampel menjalani OA dan 34 sampel menjalani LA. Nilai tengah VAS 1 hari pasca operasi OA adalah 3, dengan nilai terendah 2 dan tertinggi 6 (95% CI = 2,55 – 3,14). Sedangkan untuk LA adalah 2,25, dengan nilai terendah 0 dan tertinggi 4 (95% CI = 1,97 – 2,59). P value yang telah disesuaikan terhadap usia dan durasi operasi adalah 0,024. Kesimpulan: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai tengah VAS 1 hari pasca operasi apendektomi terbuka lebih tinggi dibandingkan operasi apendektomi laparoskopik dan hasil ini signifikan secara statistik. Appendicitis is one of the most common causes of emergency abdominal surgery, with 11 cases per 10.000 person per year. Until today, open appendectomy is still the gold standard for appendicitis treatment although laparoscopic appendectomy has significantly lower post-operative pain. It is important to pay attention to post-operative pain as it can affect comfort, activity, and suppress patient’s immune system. There are many researches comparing post-operative pain between open and laparoscopic appendectomy using post-operative analgesic dose, but there is only few research that use VAS as the indicator. Moreover, there are not many researches that use sample from Indonesia. Aim of study: This study aims to know the comparison of post-operative pain between acute appendicitis patients who undergoes open appendectomy with laparoscopic appendectomy in Siloam Hospital Lippo Village. Method: This research uses cross-sectional study design with acute appendicitis patients that went through open appendectomy or laparoscopic appendectomy in Siloam Hospital Lippo Village as the sample population. 70 samples are chosen using purposive sampling technique. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) is taken from patient’s medical record and will be processed using unpaired two samples T test. Results: From 70 samples, 36 underwent OA and 34 underwent LA. The median score of VAS 1 day post-OA is 3, with lowest score of 2 and highest of 6 (95% CI = 2,55 – 3,14). For patients that underwent LA, the median score is 2,25, with lowest score of 0 and highest of 4 (95% CI = 1,97 – 2,59). The adjusted p value against age and operation duration is 0,024. Conclusion: This study shows that the median score of VAS 1 day post open appendectomy surgery is higher than laparoscopic appendectomy. This result is statistically significant.
